Why did we need to get rid of computer rankings in order to have a playoff?

Didn’t the BCS take the other polls into account in their algorithm? A combination of human and analytical computer rankings seems to be a perfect way to balance out the other. Why was it necessary to create a small committee made up of people with competing agendas to decide the playoff when we already had a decent system? We could have just kept the BCS and made it the top 4 teams in those rankings.

People were dumb enough to think a committee wouldn’t have similar flaws to the BCS rankings

The BCS wasn’t even bad. 2011 actually should’ve been a year that showed how well it was at choosing the two best teams.

Computer rankings aren’t nearly corrupt enough.

LSU fans freaked out and claimed Alabama shouldn’t have gotten in to the NC.

People caught on and agreed and figured a committee would hold teams out that DIDNT WIN THEIR DIVISION. Because you 100% can’t be a top 4 team if you have the #1 team in your division, naturally.

And here we are.

2 things

A- you’re an idiot if you think rules were changed because LSU fans got upset about anything.

B- the dirty little secret no LSU fan wants you to know about 2011, Oklahoma State probly beats us with jordan Jefferson at QB in that title game.

we don't need committee.

we need a formula of various polls/computers/ etc

it's so stupid to a have a committee and completely unnecessary..

eliminate all the bias. what we wanted was an expanded playoff and we got it with 4 teams. we never needed a committee.

You’re entitled to your opinion but consider this. OSU had NFL players in their secondary meaning they could play man 1 and zero, load the box with 8-9 and play run all night if they wanted to. Also if you give any half decent DC a month to prepare for JJ they were gonna shut him down. Finally the consensus before that game was LSU would win by 10-13 point because of the Super Dome hime field but I tried asking the question all month, “how are we going to score with JJ.” I never got an answer offensively only that we would get pic 6s or return TDs and you saw what happens when you rely on that.

You are a freaking idiot then.

LSU was loaded and dominated everyone not named Alabama that year.

LSU's offense would have scored all over them and absolutely held them with that D.

One of the greatest LSU's defenses ever.

That's such a shite thing of you to say.

Oklahoma St lost to who again?

Quit being an idiot. LSU only lost to an equally talented team that they already beat on the road.

Most of our fans though we’d win by 10-13 in the rematch.

I dunno the same mental patients who claim the 2011 schedule was the toughest in NCAA history when in fact it was the 8th toughest of 2011.

We rarely run man-1 or zero. We typically play cover 3 with a single high free safety. If we can't get home with 4 or 5, we could be susceptible to the pass. But we do have 3 elite cover corners and an NFL safety.
