“Head to head is the determinative factor!” “So OU should be ranked ahead of Texas?” “That’s different! You have to look at the whole resume!”

Please keep showing everyone how stupid you are.

because in literally every tie-breaking scenario in organized sports, Head to Head is always listed first.

Head to head tiebreakers are for two teams in the same division who have played very similar schedules. Not for deciding which teams from two different conferences have the best resume. The head to head tiebreaker is not needed when it’s clear the SEC >>> Big 12.

I don’t understand how people place the Big 12 on equal footing with the SEC and argue that the outcome of one game is how you should rank teams.

Are you under the impression that OU and Bevo have the same amount of losses?

Just like last year, your entire point is pointless.

Last year it was alabama would be ranked ahead of tcu on a neutral field. That would’ve been true regardless of the outcome of the conference championship game.

This year it’s alabama would have more ranked wins than Texas. That will be true regardless of the outcome of the conference championship game.

Your obsession with propping up alabama is stupid, and you should feel bad.

Not even Alabama posters on here go to these lengths

You’re like one of those kids in debate class who want to argue the sky is green just to be aggravating

Please stop using this joke as some metric.

And Okie State had a better Resume than Bama in 2011...if we're going to play this game.

But as sane people know, you only compare Resumes if the two teams didn't fricking PLAY EACH OTHER!

People want to make the head to head result the determinative factor out of a subjective feeling of “fairness.”

How is it fair to give one game absurdly more weight than the other 12 games, especially when it comes to the other 12 games, Bama would be undefeated, Texas has a loss, and Bama would have 4 wins over top 25 compared to Texas’ one top 25 win?

What is fair? Fair is looking at the whole resume and deciding which team has the better complete resume.

When you do that, the answer is clear (see OP).

More simply put:

Team A: 3 top 15 wins, 1 loss to a one-loss team
Team B: 1 top 15 win, 1 loss to a two-loss team

It’s not even debatable who has the better resume.

I think “resume” is irrelevant if both have the same record, both are conference championships and 1 beat the other on the road by double digits.

Otherwise the actual games mean nothing and the committee should just choose the playoff teams in the preseason and let everyone else play for nothing.

Wasn’t Bama favored at home when Texas beat them?

No it wouldn’t. The SEC didn’t do very well overall vs P5 schools this year.

It would be one thing of Bama and Texas hadn’t played. But they did and Texas beat them in Tuscaloosa by 2 scores.

It should not be more cut and dry than that.

And for whatever idiot is bringing up Oklahoma, if they had the same record as Texas they would be ranked ahead. But they don’t so they aren’t.

SEC has 5 teams in the top 13.
SEC has won the last 4 national championships with 3 different teams.

Big 12 has 2 teams in the top 13 and hasn’t come close to winning the CFP.

FFS. Nobody is claiming the Big12 is better.

But Texas was better than Bama. If they both have the same record and are both champions of their conference you can’t ignore that one beat the other.

And look, I THINK Bama is better. I THINK if they okayed again Bama would win.

But I KNOW when they did okay Texas won. On the road. By 2 scores.

If they both keep winning it shouldn’t be a discussion.
