They did some preseason games but never regular season

Why would they give up a home game? Teams don’t do this unless the league forces them. No reason from a national standpoint to do it.

I remember watching the first Busch Series Challenge in 1987. LSU was playing a tight, low scoring game against Florida State. I forget who the LSU batter was but he smashed one that would easily have been a HR anywhere at the Box. It went out to dead center, which was 421 feet under the Superdome setup. FSU's center fielder made a remarkable catch, running down a ball that nobody thought he could reach. I saw that the family sitting next to me had a program, so I asked who number 2 was. Turned out to be Deion Sanders.
