Why are NFL refs so bad

I'm pulling for the 49ers to lose. But at the same time it feels dirty when the refs alter the outcome of the game like this time and time again.

NFL has to rig the games somehow. Can’t have the players or coaches involved. But the refs? It’s believable when they make the headlines out to be “refs are bad at their jobs” instead of “refs are purposely ruling incorrectly”

I mean the officiating on Saturdays, regardless of conference, is crap. However, what I see at the pro level isn't any better.

League is just over regulated. Way too many rules in place for refs to more often than not get wrong. More rules more chances for flags. It’s gotten out of hand

My son plays at the lowest level, Jr High, and you’d expect the refs to effectively be coaching on what is late, how to tackle, if they didn’t do it correctly, when you can pile on, what is considered hitting out of bounds....but they do nothing. No calls except false start, maybe, and offsides. They’re ruining their own game by not getting it right at a young age. You can do whatever you want. I just tell my boy to never let up. He got hurt being tackled out of bounds last season, and he couldn’t understand why it wasn’t called. Because, look who the refs are. NFL needs to train a shite ton of refs if they want their sport to continue to grow.

Gene Steratore doing the TV gig has been embarrassing. Dude came off like an arrogant douche when he was an NFL ref but I've heard him have to be corrected multiple times, including obviously Saturday, by announcers because he missed a basic understanding of the rules.
