Both teams rosters are 90% American born players. I do not understand this.

What a silly thing to get your Knickers in a twist about.

Im sure people thought this about basketball in the 90s

Now, multiple top 5 players in the world are international

all they know how to do

if there's nothing obvious to be angry about, they've become efficient at drumming something up at the snap of a finger

Bregman was eligible for team Israel I believe just for being Jewish.

And Mike moustakes, who clearly isn’t Jewish, was eligible for team Israel because his wife was Jewish

The WBC is stupid. It’s ok to say that

What does it matter who plays for who?

What do you mean “matter”? It doesn’t matter in terms of causing a global conflict or crisis. But it’s fine to say it’s stupid and fabricated

I mean it doesn’t matter that the WNBA continues to exist losing money. But it’s stupid and pointless

Why does that upset you?

I mean wouldn’t you think it’s pretty stupid if Auburn played LsU and none of the players went there? But the 3rd basemen was ducking someone who used to go there so they were eligible

This would be like having France in the tournament and filling up the roster with Cajuns from Louisiana lol

I think the rule is if a parent is born there, you’re eligible

Or do they just have Italian names and like spaghetti?

Mussina is of Slavic descent.Due to his last name, which was Americanized by his ancestors, he is often misidentified as an Italian American; before the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006, Gene Orza, the chief operating officer of the players union, even asked him to play for Italy on that assumption

How many times has a born and raised and trained in America American, donned the uniform of another country in the Olympics because their Momma was born in Italy and they couldn't make the US squad?

Or in that one case of that female basketball player where Russia paid her to play for them.

How many times has an entire roster been made up of foreigners?

It’s kind of obvious that you don’t know many first generation Americans. If one of them has a child that child has tons of family in the home country.

I'm from South Florida, over half the people here are immigrants or first generation.

I just cannot imaging having a problem with is. You act as if they had open tryouts in America and took any players they liked. No, the players have roots in that country.

As for roots, I'm skeptical these guys have "deep" roots to these places.
