Baseball - played against Will Clark and there was not doubt he was going to be great. Coached against Wally Pontiff when he was 10 yrs old and you could tell even at that level he was going to be great. Leroy Hoard in football was a guy that you just knew was going to be good.

Tweety Carter, was that being serious.
Ryan Perrilloux was a better basketball player than him. and corey webster would have made him cry.
i only mention those two since they all are from the same area.Perrilloux being from across the street.

it's a shame that RCS doesnt submit their stats to the NFHS record book because Tweety would be Top 5 all time in numerous categories

and you saying RP and Corey Webster are better basketball players than Tweety is dumb

Ivan Zenon from Mandeville High back in the early 1990's….he played DE and was a man-child…..he committed initially to LSU and changed his commit to Tennessee….tragically he lost his life at Spring Break in FL his senior year…..very sad...

BRANDON JACOBS. Went to the same HS. The game that stands out the most was the state semifinals vs. john curtis. Assumption had nothing, i mean nothing, except for brandon. So curtis puts 7 on the line of scrimmage and 9 in the box. He still ran for like 160!! He was the defintion of man vs. boys. He was only 20lbs lighter in HS than he is now. 6'4" 245, running 4.45? It wasn't even fair

Ryan Perrilloux - totally dominated all phases of the game

Kirston Pittman- was an extremely talented DE, just knew he would be good at the next level

Laron Landry- ESJ played Hahnville and Laron was all over the field.

Charles Barkley. Fat kid with a good sized Afro. Scored about 30 on us and they beat us by about 40.

best i saw personally was Cordell Stewart when they came to play us at ESJ! that guy looked like superman!!

i remember this...LOL my brother also played for ESJ during that time

id have to say Ryan Perrilloux was by far one of the best athletes I've ever seen play personally. I've seen Rondell Mealey, Ed Reed, Fred Smith, Laron Landry, Darron Thomas, Vegas Franklin, Peyton & Eli...just to name a few... oh and Alley Broussard

did you see corey webster play basketball. someone his height is not supposed to be able to do 360's and windmills.
From personal experience, playing against both, webster would destroy tweeny.

and there's a reason RCS doesn't submit there stats. they are cheaters for one recruiting players.
besides that they play like 45 games a year and tweety started playing in 8th grade.

My younger brother played with Josh Reed in High School, so I saw him play a few times. He was running back and was a typical man amongst boys and would run pretty much at will.

Also have a good friend that was a sports writer in Leesville around the time of Cecil Collins. This guy had seen a lot when it came to football and he said Cecil was the best raw talent he had ever seen.

I live not far from Russel Shepard's High School and want to see one of his games this year. Hopefully, I'll feel the same about him after watching . . . I'm sure I will.

Nice list esjchick.

I totally forgot to list a few of those especially Darron Thomas (him and Chris Markey owned the state in rushing that year) and Ed Reed.

All those years we just couldn't beat Hahnville, still painful to remember, but looking back now they really had some talent.

your personal experience doesnt mean anything to me and last I checked basketball is a team sport

and there you have it, your opinion on Tweety is jaded because of some other bullshite that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread

He did Ok in the minors. He was a stud, a year younger than me in HS. He wasn't that shabby at RB, just when you have a Mike Burks and Spencer Green, what can you do? IF there was one kid that I watched play that I was sure he was going pro, Jeff was that guy. One talented SOB! Corey Avarad(sp???) was the fastest pitcher I've ever seen, thats just all he had though.
