also, and not to sound like a pussy
it's pretty touching to see him with his mom talking about his father...it is quintessential America.
I think Bill Belichick would've been the best at anything he wanted to do, but he loves football and it's a desire to bond with his dad that he became obsessed with it...it's pretty touching shite

Don't act like Shula in late 80's/early 90's was Shula in the 70's.
he went 59-37 and made an AFC Championship game from 1990-1995
that included 11-5 and 12-4 years

Or is that on Marino?
See what I did there
Their defenses were average-to-bad in those last 10 years.
12
25
17
24
22
4 (playoffs)
24
11 (playoffs)
24
18 (playoffs)
10 (playoffs)
So they averaged 21st in defense in the years Marino missed the playoffs. Those years can't be all on him.

I also consider that there are certain diva personalities that all of a sudden become quite tame in his presence
moss and revis come to mind
he just commands that kind of respect...he's this butterball short guy and these huge physical specimens with the personalities and egos to match just get alpha'd by him so badly

Talib was pretty thuggin before his Pats days too. Blount seems to act like an idiot when he's not in New England. I'm sure there's more that I'm missing

And won the division twice in 5 years, went 3-4 in playoffs.
And 30-34 from 86-89 with no playoff births.
I'm just saying, Belichick prime > Shula's last 12 years.

The story of Rodney Harrison's free agent trip to New England in 2003 is hilarious

Its unbelievable.
He should write a book just about taming athlete divas.

Where they picked him up and took him to some fast food place on the side of a highway? And he was in like slacks and a dress shirt because he expected to go to Ruth's Chris, Bill showed up in a cut up sweatshirt and jeans?

if kanye west were an athlete, bill belichick would bring him to heel
he'd be calling belichick a genius in no time. There's just something about his personality. He doesn't suffer fools

Yep
And he just basically was like "here's how much money I can give you. Best I can do" and that was the meeting
Harrison told his agent the next day to do whatever he needed to do contract wise, that where he wanted to play

Beiber and Kanye go to training camp with the patriots.
Lets make it happen.

I guess he makes it quite clear, that you shape up or ship out and he doesn't give a frick what your contract is, what your stats are, nothing
you do it his way to the T or you get shite canned without a moments hesitation

I would love to see how that first meeting between Belichick and Moss went down

belichick probably carefully explains and details what it is like to be a loser, makes clear that they have never won shite. You can come here, do things my way, and you'll be a winner, or you can keep doing what you've been doing and keep getting the same results...I imagine it's a lot like that.

Also to further answer this thread, I think there are quite a few Hall of Fame QBs that could have won Super Bowls with the first 3 Pats championship teams.
There are probably 2 in history I would trust to do what Brady did last night in the 4th quarter and Brady is one of them. Montana being the other.
