2006 there was no welker, moss or stallworth (people forget that he was fricking awesome in 07)

2008 was an identical team

2010? Pssssh, wasn't even the same fricking team.

why did you skip 09

and notice the difference

1. the colts were in tank mode. Manning wasn't the only significant injury that year

2. I do notice the difference, bill belichick >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> jim Caldwell.

that's fine

but you still said Marino had 'no coaching'

no offense to the Donald, but marino tossed 48 TDs in just his second year in the pros

that would be unreal in today's pass happy NFL

Marino certainly extended shula's career. Dan was a prick though, he had a selfish loser mentality and that's why he never won a super bowl.

Brady missed 2008 due to injury and the Patriots didn't miss a beat. That tells you who's important.

Didn't miss a beat? They went from 16-0 and blowing teams out week in and week out and being referred to as tGOAT to 11-5 in the matter of 1 year. Big difference in those 2 teams.

Exactly! The Patriots won 11 games without Brady while the Colts only won two games without Manning.

The Colts were in full tank mode, and that Patriots team almost went perfect the year before.

no team goes to 6 superbowls in 14 years on one man's back

did it ever occur to you that they are both great, or better yet...dependent on one another. why does their relationship have to be one sided and not symbiotic?

you could argue given the era that dan marino's ruthian season is still the best ever

5,000 yards (the first and only until 2008 when drew brees passed for 5,000 yards under a friendlier set of rules and still didn't break the record. record stood until 2011. 27 years)

48 TDs (a record until 2004 when peyton manning tossed 49 with two HOF receivers and a HOF runningback)

and he did this in his second year in pro football out of fricking pitt

I don't follow the logic of using the 2011 colts

we're arguing who is more important, belichick or brady. Cassel coming in and playing equally as good or better would be valid, but it's a huge dropoff

of course the patriots won 11 games, no one is arguing that belichick is some fricking amateur

Many people believe the 2011 Indianapolis Colts tanked the season on purpose to get Andrew Luck at #1. And it makes sense because they went from 2-14 in 2011 to 11-5 and a playoff appearance in 2012 with a rookie starting at QB.

it doesn't make sense because the coaching staff lost their jobs

The real difference is that jim Caldwell might as well be simple jack compared to belichick

exactly

16-0 almost doesn't even do it justice. You have to remember how badly they were beating everyone they played.

this alone makes you wonder how he never won a SB. Bad attitude or not. The man was unbelievable.

yup, only 4 teams were within one score, and 2 of those were just the result of garbage points

a few close games (some of them garbage point results for the loser) also made people forget how dominant the 2009 saints were

2009 saints and 2013 seahawks are the 2 best super bowl winners post division realignment IMO. the 2014 patriots are up there too, past week 4 it was somewhat overlooked how badly they were crushing motherfrickers.

just the most naturally talented quarterback ever to live...jimmy Johnson has accused him of being lazy...and I don't doubt him despite dan's numbers simply because dan came in and just lit it up from the word go

he had the size, the arm strength, the release and the natural mental skill to process things quickly...if there was manning or brees like devotion, he'd probably have enough rings to fit on one hand.
