Goddell still has most of the media on his side.

Think you are confusing 2 different things.

You think only Saints fans think Goodell has overreacted and has to much power?

Selig and its not even close. Bountygate affected one team by and large. Selig botched a crisis that affected the WHOLE sport, its history and many people who before would have been first ballot hall of famers.

People on this site are butthurt because its their home team, and they should be. But outside of the gulf coast nobody is worked up over the fact that a coach, an above average player and a few nobodies just got suspended.

Have you looked at the evidence that's been released? Absolutely laughable. If this keeps up, the shitstorm around Goodell will be unprecedented. Not to mention the changes to the game that are making it more and more like flag football. He needs to go and if you can't see that, you're blind.

Still though, it's Selig by a long shot. The steroid era is only one of the many frickups he's had while at the helm.

how exactly did Selig botch it? He had no control without the players union, NONE.

It's the opposite of what Goodell has, complete control.

While most people may agree the punishment didnt fit the crime, you are crazy if you think people are going to be "up in arms" about Goodell or that a "shitstorm" is going to ensue. Outside of New Orleans, no one really cares about this meaningless fight between him and vilma.

I would bet the majority of the general public believes a bounty system was in place in new orleans, hell the general public probably thinks every team had one (which most probably did. Thus you arent going to get some outcry if the evidence is weak at best.

Just like Clemens and steroids, there may not be a video of him shooting up or the saints physically passing out money but everyone knows that shite took place.
