More than 10 need to be in a tournament for it to be legitimate, bro.

Come on

Ask yourself how many majors Tiger would have if he was playing in some where only 9 other Americans showed up.

Now call him the GOAT.

The greatest golfer to ever play the game is Bobby Jones.

Jones could make every shot a modern day player can make using a wooden shaft club with a sweet spot the size of a postage stamp and a ball from out of the stone ages.

Today's player have club heads the size of a small three bedroom home and use balls that have more engineering in them than a space shuttle.

It's Bobby Jones for my money. Tiger and Jack are in the hunt for number two.

What did you just type? So mishits are more forgiving now. That means two things. Players in the past had to be more precise with their ball striking and Tiger also benefits from today’s more forgiving equipment. Jeesh.
Jesus Christ, man.

Say, in Maddox's prime, they decided to make the strike zone smaller.

Would you say this would be the demise of Greg Maddox?

Or would he greatly benefit compared to other pitchers because he was a GOD(better than everyone else) at moving a baseball extremely accurately?

May I point out in 1953 Ben Hogan won the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open. Oh yeah, the British Open and PGA Championsip were played the same week that year so no one could win all four majors in a row back then.

Yes the fields when Tiger played were so deep a 58 year old Tom Watson tied or beat everyone in the field in a British Open.

You do realize that inferior equipment would help tiger, right? Equipment today is a lot more forgiving. Players that mishit a shot get away with it more so than players years ago. If everyone was playing the old equipment, tiger would have won more.

Not when you factor how many hickory shafts of his clubs Tiger breaks after he slams them into the ground after hitting a bad drive.

Tiger was on his way to being better than Jack and then it didn’t happen.

You can simply stop at:

18 Major wins
19 Major runner-ups

I’m a fan of Tiger, but this is just ridiculous.

Go read the early accomplishment section of his wiki page. Won everything. He was the first golf prodigy.

The following year at the Masters 51 year old Sam Snead finished ahead of Arnold Palmer and Gary Player

55 year old Sam Snead and 54 year old Ben Hogan both finished in the top 10 of the 1967 Masters. Jack Nicklaus did not.

53 year old Julius Boros finished just one shot behind Jack and T7 at the 1973 US Open

Sam Snead made the cut at AGE 67 at the 1974 PGA Championship

Old guys have randomly had good tournaments throughout the history of golf. Try again

Using Wikipedia

This is also false. Bobby Jones was the first golfing prodigy.

There is no argument for who has done more for the sport of golf between Tiger Woods and Jack Niclaus. It's Tiger and it's not remotely close. Hell, Jack wasn't even the most influential player of his era. Arnold Palmer was.

So, like I said, claiming Jack was Tiger before Tiger was Tiger is really, really dumb.

Actually Jack has done more but Tiger had bigger impact in viewing.

Go read how Jack gave money to others so they could live continue playing. Biggest story was Chi Chi. Chi Chi and Trevino both credit Jack for spreading golf to their worlds.

Also let me know when Tiger has designs of courses scholarships and businesses that give to golf. Jack has all those before it became foundations.

None of this comes close to the impact Tiger Woods has had on the game. He fundamentally changed the way golf courses were designed due to his dominance of the completion, he increased purses by more than tenfold and he made golf a sport watchable for people who didn't even play the sport.

There are only a handful of golfers that can be argued to have had a bigger impact on the game, and Jack Nicklaus is not among them.
