there are fat athletes in all of the big 3 sports.
sometimes an athletes lack of optimal physique helps you actually see what type of an athlete these guys really are.
Marc Gasol and Boris Diaw are highly skilled athletes, which shows through despite their terrible bodies.
So are guys like Pablo Sandoval, Mo Vaughn Jonathan Broxton, and Jon Kruk.

I bet the fatest football player is fatter than the fattest baseball player.

that baseball players are more athletic than football players.

Why is it that most baseball players have that wide waisted, barrell belly look? Not fat, just very wide in the waist, torso area. I always wondered.

Current players? Look at Yrout, Stanton, Harper, etc these are guys that would fit into any sport.

Yea I know. I'm not talking about the guys you mentioned. And I didn't say they don't look fit. They look fit, just in a way you only see in baseball. Maybe the uniforms make them look like that.

They have some still but most baseball players that have that "big" look are becoming obsolete. Players look like they could transition into other sports. Fielder is a different player since he has been a vegan for several years. He is a better athlete than he looks.

Aurelio Lopez when he was with the Astros in the 80's.
Senor Smoke looked like Senor Overstuffed Burrito.
Carlos Lee was a big fatty too.

Lee was fat at the tail end of his career... during his prime dude wasn't that big

you're ready to tell me he isnt a good athlete?
So a fat pitcher with a waistline big enough for two grown men to fit into each pant-leg made the all star team in baseball?
Sounds like you don't have to be very athletic to play baseball.

Anytime a football player picks up a fricking baseball they try and sign him to a contract.
Which is a sport where the some of the best athletes play basketball in college and a year in football.

Of course he is.

Babe Ruth is always depicted as fat. But that's because film of him doesn't exist in his first few years. He came into MLB at Boston physically fit.
