Didn't watch. Made no promises. More because had a full day of soccer, swim lessons, Bday parties, yard work and was sleeping sleeping long before it started.

Between 3 days of the draft, 3 LSU/MSU games, The Kentucky Derby, the end of the Clippers/Spurs game, and following the Fast Pitch 56 on Twitter (I had a couple of personal rooting interests), I was sportsed out by 9 p.m., so I gave my wife the TV.

Neither of these guys is great,and they are old. Guys like Duran and Leonard would have knocked these guys out.

It was an excuse to get with friends, drink some brews, and watch 2 dudes who have beef fight. You are sooooo cool and way above that. Congrats man

My friends don't need a fight as an excuse to get together. Maybe you need better friends.

I haven't paid to watch a fight since Whitaker-de la Hoya. That fight was fixed and they stole my f'n money. I'll watch boxing on HBO and I'll go to a friend's house if its on, I'm not hard core about it, but I won't give boxing my money. And when I do break my streak, it won't be for some shitstain like Floyd Mayweather, who doesn't even fight. So a boring fighter and a terrible person? No thanks.
I didn't watch. People being upset afterwards that this fight was waste of money have apparently been completely unaware of Mayweather's entire career.

Pacquiao/Bradley 1 was the one that got me. Manny easily won 9 or 10 rounds and somehow lost the decision. I don't follow the sport that closely, but have seen Floyd a couple of times the last few years. So, I knew what was coming in terms of style and that it would be relatively boring to the average fan. All of that said, I plunked down the money since it is probably the last superfight for 10 years.
I actually was not disappointed. Floyd won convincingly enough that it told us what we needed to know and was not a setup for another payday. I wish these two geriatrics has fought five or ten years ago, but I don't think the result would have been different. I think Manny used to be stronger back then, but he may have been using something. Floyd would have just been even more elusive.

Floyd may be half a step slower but with his style and in his division he could fight another 5 years.
