There’s no absolutely dominant team this year that’s already out, UVA was overrated had a bunch of average joes. This is star studded teams.

in no order

14-15 UK

KAT, Booker, Cauley Stein, Harrison twins and Ulis

07-08 UCLA

Love, Westbrook, Collison, Mbah a Moute

04-05 Illinois

Dee Brown, James Augustin, Luther Head, Deron Williams

01-02 Duke

Jay Williams, Dunleavy, Boozer, Duhon

04-05 UCONN

Marcus Williams, Rudy Gay, Josh Boone, Rashad Anderson who raped Bama the prior year

2000 Arizona

Luke Walton, Jason Gardner, Gilbert Arenas, Richard Jefferson

98-99 Duke

Elton Brand, Battier, Trajan Langdon, Corey Maggette

99 Duke was the best team on that list. They crushed us in New Jersey.

The UK team was pretty damn great also 38-1 right?

I always think of the Illinois squad first, but I believe most people think 98-99 Duke was the best.

Think you have to consider 2014-15 Wisconsin.

The Badgers went 36-4 (16-2) with NCAAT wins over Oregon, UNC, Arizona, and Kentucky. Had they finished off Duke, you could argue it as the greatest Tournament run of all-time with wins over CBB's best programs, not including a good Oregon team. In addition to that, they had highest AdjO in the KenPom area and it hasn't been, particularly, close.

We knew we were in trouble if Maggette went off and he did. We thought Moore and Brand would even out but had no chance to stop Maggette

Him being from St Louis also didn’t help out since he knew our guys from Summer league. He abused Stringer that night. Fontleroy was as quick just not as fast.

So UVA shouldn’t have been ranked number one based on their results prior to the tournament? That’s absurd.

The Ohio st team with oden and Conley.

The Michigan team a few years ago with Burke, hardaway, McGary, and stauskas.

1999 Duke is the 2007 Patriots of college basketball. They're probably the best college basketball team of all-time. They just failed to close the deal against a really good UCONN team.

I think 1998-99 Duke was one of the best college teams of all time. The 2007 Patriots comparison is a great one.

2008 was just a year loaded with top end talent so I don't think UCLA sticks out as much for me as some of the others that the OP posted about.

2005 UConn, 2002 Duke, and 2015 UK are other great choices.

‘97 Kentucky would be a decent one considering it has pieces of those 96 and ‘98 championship teams. An OT away from a three peat.

ETA: Just missing the 20 year limit

Of course they deserved the 1 seed based on their regular season, but nobody will look back saying damn that UVA team was stacked. Just a bunch of guys who played really well together

I’ll also add 01-02 Maryland

Juan Dixon, Steve Blake, Lonny Baxter and Chris Wilcox
