I like your positive attitude, but knowing that is took 2 games for JT to get up to speed, I am obviously worried.
The week 2 loss was on the entire team from the coaches to the last player on the bench.
The offense as a unit is much improved, and hopefully they can run the ball well enough to give OSU a chance to make a couple big plays and win.
I believe they can win still, because it is his 3rd year in the system and he is a mammoth of a human being who can bulldoze hopefully for 4 yards a carry

This is pretty much how I see it. When comparing, if Baylor beats K State again, the two teams have the following in their favor:
Baylor:
- Won the head to head
- more victories in the top 25
- Best win over #4 TCU(after factoring in MS State loss
- Conference Champion
TCU:
- Best OOC win (Minnesota who is out of the top 25)
- Best loss of the 2
Looking from a purely deserving point of view, I say it's Baylor hands down. Yes TCU played Minnesota, but Baylor will play a better Kansas St team for a second time which more than cancels out that win IMO. Semantics like improper pass interference calls should not be considered. If we were going off of penalties called or not called, Bama would have some explaining to do. Two resumes, which one is better? Baylor IMO
Why should it matter when TCU played the same opponents as Baylor. All of Baylors wins in the top 25 are the same teams TCU has beaten. Excluding their head to head matchup. What Baylor has going for them is having a tie for conference champion and winning the head to head matchup. What TCU has going for them is a stronger OOC schedule, a tie for conference champion, and beating the team that beat Baylor.

I understand he is stepping in to a more complete offense than JT did...at the same time JT had to make some throws. Something we have yet to see from Cardale.

TCU
* #20 Oklahoma, #12 Kansas St.
* Loses - Baylor
Ohio St.
* Quality wins #10 Michigan St., #18 Minnesota, #14 Wisconsin
* Loses - Virginia Tech
So Ohio State gets credit for a win against Minnesota, but TCU doesn't?
Makes sense.

You post this.
And then you simply post this.
With nothing about when the games were, where they were or the conditions of those games. Jesus Christ. At least make it look like you're impartial in both posts.

I watched both the TCU-Kansas game and Baylor-Texas Tech Game
In the Kansas game it was a cold weather game with high winds and there was a bunch of flukey shite that happened that helped Kansas. One Kansas TD drive was aided by a roughing the punter penalty, followed by a botched snap on a Field Goal attempt that was thrown up in the air and somehow caught by a Kansas player for a first down.
Another TD for Kansas was a batted ball that hovered in the air and found its way right to a Kansas receiver who ran 75 yards for a TD.
Baylor-Texas Tech was played in an air conditioned dome and Texas Tech was the better team by watching it. Tech moved the ball with ease and fumbled 3 times after big gains because of lazy ball security. That's about the only way Baylor could stop them.
And then you simply post this.

TCU 30 - Minnesota 7
Ohio State 31 - Minnesota 24

My post is incorrect. Monday hangover has me thinking Baylor is playing K State for the second time which is completely wrong. So what it looks like is this:
Baylor:
- Won the head to head
- Best win over #4 TCU(after factoring in MS State loss they will be ranked at #4)
- Conference Champion (They won the game so they are conference champions via tiebreaker. I don't count Ole Miss shared titles either)
TCU:
- Best OOC win (Minnesota who is out of the top 25)
- Best loss of the 2
I still say it goes to Baylor. Glad we will probably see 2-3 losses in the top 6 though. Love chaos any year LSU isn't involved negatively.

They are? CFP rankings aren't decided until tomorrow.

Not just that but Baylor benefitted from 2 extremely sketchy pass interference calls at the end of that game. Had either call not gone Baylor's way at the very worst the game goes to overtime.
TCU lost that game more than Baylor won it. Had TCU just played clock management and not ran out of bounds every damn play the comeback doesn't happen. Also it doesn't happen on a neutral field. TCU was the better team that day they just didn't play smart with the clock at the end.
Stupid shite like this shouldn't factor in. I could give you a similar analysis for TCU against West Virginia; Alabama against LSU and Arkansas; and FSU against just about anyone. TCU had it and they blew it, end of story.

Yeah. Alabama got pretty lucky against WVU as well.

Does the 5th (and potentially 6th) ranked team have a beef at the end of this for getting left out? Assuming all the top 6 win this weekend.
How legit are the gripes?

The big ten's image took a pretty big hit at the beginning of the year. That's going to be hard to overcome, because while tOSU has been playing great it's all been against big ten teams.

Do we have records for P5 ooc matchups against other P5 schools?

Baylor does if TCU gets in and they don't.

If you lose to an unranked team you don't get to complain about being left out
Posted on 12/1/14 at 1:00 pm to Epic Cajun
And if you are the only team out of the P5 playoff contenders to not win your conference, do you have a right to complain if you're left out?

The pr cement was set on this in 2011.
I tend to agree, even though it's counterintuitive. This is why standards, formulas, and transparency are good things.
Assuming Baylor wins, TCU still has the better body of work. A 14 point loss to WVU should be punished.
OSU has a horrible loss and likewise should be punished.

Non-Conference Games vs Power 5 Teams
Record Win pct
Pac-12 8-3 .727
ACC 10-7 .588
SEC 5-6 .455
Big 12 4-6 .400
Big Ten 6-11 .353

The B1G record may not be impressive, but they played 17 games, as did the ACC.
Not only did the SEC schedule weakly, but they couldn't even break .500. Embarrassing. What a down year for the SEC.

There is a good possibility that the B1G will have three current top 10 teams after tomorrow night. The SEC will have two at most.
