You Can NOT be SERIOUS!
At least in the old days.
I mean, linesman affected every point.

Dustin Johnson disagrees. AS does John Rahm.

They've definitely given a fight to the wrong guy before.
Least would be tennis. All they have is a line judge.

As in the least influence? Because that would be a joke. See "the Hand of God“ for reference.

I think it is basketball as 99% of calls are subjective.
Baseball and Tennis could be way up there, but technology has created a ton of accountability.

But players/coaches make mistakes, they have to eat their own mistakes as they should. When Refs make a mistake and do they suffer the consequences? No…it’s the team that’s wrongly penalized.

Refs have instant replay and 1 million camera angles. Absolutely ZERO excuses for getting a call wrong. ZERO!!

Single call it’s football
Course of the game, basketball
Course of the game, basketball

Add sprinting and gymnastics.
NASCAR now a sport, but hillclimb racing is not.
That is some logic.

Tennis is pure AF mates

By this definition any track and field or meet type events would not qualify as a sport.

Thats judges not refs. Very seldom do the refs stop a fight too soon in the ufc. After watching the nfl turn into a flag fest in the last 10-15 years the refs in the ufc have been refreshing. Let the athletes fricking play/fight/whatever.

Yeah, no way a top player could catch a DQ from a tourney just because he questioned said refs.
You. CAN'T be serious.

Are we talking refs or are we talking rulebooks? There are a lot of comments here that are conflating the two. The automatic first downs for instance is not a ref influence. It is a rulebook influence. If it is whether or not the ref makes the call it is a ref influence. If it is what happens when the ref makes the call it is a rulebook influence.

Golf is the sport least influenced by refs.

Because the refs are just an ironclad rulebook.

And its obviously basketball, that sport gets sillier by the minute. They can just call whatever.
David Stern famously told the refs (when he was trying to grow the NBA) when it had terrible ratings, as a terrible spectator sport...just keep every game close until the final minutes.
