nobody said how shitty they were.

Decker was a freak in college. I assumed he'd be a stud in the NFL. The last 2 seasons he has been. Yes, having Manning helps.

D. Thomas is arguably a top 5 receiver, and absolutely a top 10.

Welker is one of the greatest slot receivers of all time.

Anyone that knows shite about football knew how good these 3 would be this season.

everyone was saying how shitty their WR core was when Tebow was there.

What?

It was pretty much accepted that Tebow ruined Decker's value (he had 270 yards and 4 TDs in 4 games before Tebow came in). And Thomas was a young 1st round pick with all the potential in the world but a QB that couldn't get the ball downfield.

This entire thread is a spinoff from the other thread. The argument has been that Brees would be miles better with Denver's receiving core and that the Saints receiving core is shite.

My argument is that while Denver has one of the best receiving cores in the game, Brees has arguably one of the current best receivers in the game in Graham. There are few players with the talent of Graham. While Denver has very good wide receivers, they have no one close IMO to the talent that Graham has.

without peyton manning those guys are nothing... the saints guys have done more in the league

sure the saints might go WR but that's bc Moore is on his way out and Colston can't play forever

He may be, but there isn't one team that I don't think Graham wouldn't do well on.
It isn't just his talent, its his physical features too. The guy was just bred to be a Future Hall of Famer.

Disagree. I think you're grossly underselling Demaryius Thomas. One of the very best WRs in the game and would be an absolute stud if he were the focal point of that (or any) offense.

Jimmy Graham > J. Thomas
Colston < D. Thomas
Moore < Welker
Stills < Decker
Meachem > Andre Caldwell

The same can be said about the Saints WRs. I think that Welker guy did okay outside of Peyton.

This.

I don't think anyone thought that the WR group was horrible with Tebow. He just didn't have the tools to get them the ball.

I'd take Denver because of how unique each receiver is. Welker is your slot/quick out guy,Decker gives you crisp route running and deceptive speed,DT88 has breakaway speed/is physical nightmare for most CB's on the jump ball and J.Thomas is in the lucky position where many teams are more concerned with Welker than him [Only negative is that he hasn't proven to play through injury].

You added in the hyperbole to make your argument seem stronger.

Graham is the best player out of the two groups.

I think Sproles and Welker are a wash with each other, both have a role and they are both excellent at it.

Thomas and Decker I would both put over Colston.

As a whole I think DEN is better but the mismatches that sproles/graham create make up for the lack of talent in the wr corps.

ETA this whole discussion is kinda dumb tho... DEN may have the best core in the league but if the decision was DEN or Calvin Johnson and co, I would prob take Calvin Johnson. You could maybe say the same for Graham.

Thomas is only in his 4th year. McDaniels was fired in December, offense was a mess in 2010. 2011 was mostly Tebow and the last two years were Peyton. He was a first round pick but he wasn't exactly utilized his first two seasons.

A lot of people would normally agree with that, if not for the Manning vs Brees thread going on right now.

Sproles has 241 more all purpose yards than Welker and Sproles has played 1 less game.
