When they were good in the super bowl years, I always heard buffalo was a very difficult place to play. I'm sure the cold factor was in there too.

Seattle is 1 of the 5 best teams in the NFL, but yeah It is hard not to laugh at how out of hand the hype has become
You give and you take. During the 09 season, the Dome was considered the loudest/most difficult place to play in the NFL. You listen to media commentary during any of those games and they state it multiple times. We contributed to the Seattle hype machine starting by going up there and losing to the 7-9 Hawks the next year in the playoffs, which is really where this all started for them. When you're known as the loudest venue in America, you're more likely to show up and cheer your arse off. That's what they're doing right now.

I'm believing in Seattle. They're defense is big, fast and physical. As long as their offense is competent, they're in it for the long haul.

thats because Sean Payton didn't coach in the dome last year. mis-leading stats
Well let's date it back to 2009, for Payton's record at home.
they are 21-5
Saints overall home record since 06, although the Bounty year deserves an asterisks
38-20
(4-4 during Bounty Gate at home)
*This would likely be around 5-3 or better, if not for bounty gate.
For home prime time games since 2006:
9 - 3 with Payton, with one loss being a Saturday night game.
11-3 total
Last home primetime loss was a Saturday Night game vs Dallas during 2009, the other two losses being in 07 and 08.
I'd say the Saints are pretty impressive at home, especially in prime time games.
if we include playoffs,
15-3 @ home.

Doesn't stop commentators from saying X amount of days or X amount of straight wins when X quarterback starts in X Stadium.
I have seen this used for injured quarterbacks.

Has anyone actually been to any of these stadiums or are we just listing what the media tells us? This is in regards to crowd noise/overall hostility.
Obviously saints posters have been to the superdome

I have not, However television does do justice to the teams I listed. Weather is a factor in all but New Orleans.

I've been to games @ Houston and @ Atlanta, and they are nowhere near as loud as the Superdome.
Seattle is of course from what I see on the media, but it's tough to argue with.
Denver has always had a mystique to it. "Mile high", tough for teams not used to the elevation, etc. It certainly helps having Peyton Manning at quarterback.

The Superdome has to be top 3. That place is LOUD constantly when the other team has the ball.
what about pre 2006

denver is the hardest in regards to conditioning. it takes a human 3 months to adjust completely to the altitude.
Currently, seattle is probably the hardest on the offense due to noise factor.

I'll take a silent stadium with the Saint's Super Bowl win over Seattle's home field advantage with no super bowl win in the history of the franchise.

which teams do you think hold a great home field advantage for whatever reason?
Well, if you want to use actual records just going on the last 5 years, it would be:
Patriots 35-5
Falcons 33-7
Ravens 32-8
Packers 32-8
Saints 29-11
