I have Lebron 3rd behind Jordan and Kareem with Bird (4) and Magic (5) with Wilt (6) and then 7-10 could be in any order Duncan, Olajuwan, Oscar and Kobe.
Great list, My Man! I have trouble with West/Kobe at 10. With you everywhere else.

3,4, or 5.... Wilt, Bill Russell, and him are all in the same boat... they could all be ranked at any of those 3 spots and the argument would be totally valid for that ranking, in any combination thereof...

No. Bill Russell is not even a top 10 player in NBA history. Maybe not top 15. I could listen to an argument for Kareem anywhere from 1-3, but would probably put him 3 behind Jordan and Lebron. But I think he pretty clearly had the greatest overall basketball career of all-time.

He is by far the best modern Center. His resume is just ridiculous. I don't know why he is always overlooked..

He was a power forward, and he’s high on the list.

But his resume definitely gives him an argument for the GOAT.

His resume is untouchable from high school to College to the Pros...its ridiculous. Who wins two high school national championships, 3 College National Championships (he would've won 4 but freshman weren't allowed to play) but his freshman team still defeated the Varsity National Champions...

Then all his NBA titles, scoring, and the fact that he was a pilot, nobody touches Kareem's career.

3rd, I have Bird second

1st Jordan
2nd Bird
3rd Kareem

Next 7 are Wilt, Lebron, Hakeem, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Big O

LeBron is the greatest athlete in NBA history though.

The most unstoppable player and go to shot of all time. Only player they ever altered the rules to go against him.

Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.

He was not a PF. He played down at times. But he spent the bulk of his minutes at C. It started cause he played with Robinson. So one had to be the "PF". If that is the case, why isn't the same for Olajuwon? He spent his first 4 seasons playing alongside a 7'4 Sampson..

You can think whatever. The majority of his career was PF. Google university quickly confirms it. Why is it that important to you to classify him as center? Putting him at PF allows you to pick a true center for your dream team.

I was so young when he played, never really saw him. Part of his greatness was truly because he was so much taller than everyone else for a while.
I guess I wonder if he would be as good today, like Kareem and Wilt would

“Moses in the conversation”

Moses Malone was 8 years younger than Kareem so they got the better of each other at the begging and end of their matchups. Kareem at the beginning and Moses at the end when Kareem was old. At different times they both had absurd supporting cast. KAJ had a much bigger career but head to head Moses got the better of him in points and rebounds. 25-22 points and 15-8 rebounds. And really controlled him in the lopsided title matchup.

Dude played in a system that grabbed Kareem's rebound and ran the court in 3 seconds.

After years of winning he was like, frick it.

Kareem is generally considered both the greatest high school and college basketball player of all time, correct?

If taking that into consideration, I’d put him #2 behind Jordan.

I'm old enough to remember him playing with Magic... .

Even at the end of his career, I'd put him at/near the top. He was by then average in most aspects of his game, but the skyhook was unstoppable.

He’s definitely at the forefront of the discussion of GOAT pro players ever. MJ’s in a class all by himself but Kareem’s just a notch below which is still really damn good.

Thats why this GOAT " debate" is so damn silly .

Exactly. Goat debates 20 years ago is different than today’s or 20 years from now. “Of all time” includes events that didn’t happen yet. And who the heck knows what will happen between today and 2050. MJ said no one knows while Lebron said he’s the GOAT. Lebron doesn’t understand the concept of time.
