Where will the Phx/Arizona Coyotes rank in terms of lasting legacy?

This could be one of the most forgettable franchises in all of sports. Right now, I think that goes to the Atlanta Thrashers. Some other hockey teams are close by: Cleveland Barons, California Golden Seals.
Did ownership fumble so badly that it cost Phoenix a team in the future?

I don't follow the sport too much so I've always wondered why NHL teams seem to move/fold so frequently.

I’ve never understood that.
Hartford Whalers would be a nice addition to the league and also bring back the Quebec Nordiques.

The NHL makes a fraction of the revenue that the NBA and MLB does yet they have more teams than both of those leagues. That never made sense to me.

They had a memorable ridiculous logo but that's about it.

They'll be known as Gretzky's folly.

One of the best logos and colour schemes in sport

They don’t. There’s only been two this century (Thrashers/Jets and Coyotes). That’s fewer than the NBA (Grizzlies, original Hornets/Pelicans, Sonics/Thunder and the Nets if you want to count them) and NFL (Rams, Chargers, Raiders), and tied with MLB (Expos/Nats and Athletics).
There were a lot in the 90s, but that’s pushing 30 years at this point (and there were a lot in the NFL in the 90s too).
