And what will they get for him? It's happening.

teams might be willing to give up a lot less, because it's no guarantee westbrook will sign with whatever team he is traded to next summer.

i think the lakers are the only team the thunder could make it work with this summer, because they'd have to like their chances to re-sign him next summer. and westbrook could make more money with the lakers if he's traded to them this summer, as opposed to signing with them on his own next summer.

Boston makes the most sense. Lakers wouldn't surprise me either. They've gotta do it now

Boston is only team with the assets to take the risk of the rental and not hurt them long term.

they do have a great chance of signing him, IMO, but that's only if they keep all the young pieces they currently have.... they'd have to ship some of those guys out to make a trade happen, and in that sense, if they do they hurt their chance of keeping him, if a trade does occur... it would really set them back in the long run, if they do trade for him, IMO

Loaded with assets which will attract OKC/Presti.

The superstar Boston craves, which will attract a fearless Ainge.

Lakers won't trade for him this year, knowing they are probably the lead dog to sign him next year.

Because they have the most expendable assets and are a superstar short of being a real contender. OKC will look to get the most in return. Who else can get them that without losing a superstar?

Boston: takes one of their good guards (bradley/thomas), all of brooklyns picks they're owed, their own pick, and brown?

Big problem with Boston is they can't trade next years Nets pick since it is a pick swap.

Lakers make the most sense. Don't think it's as much of a lock as others think that Westbrook heads there. So he gets comfortable with the team for a year and they would have the ability to offer him more money than others.
