re: Where will OKC trade Westbrook?

It's interesting in that the Lakers would have to give up assets that will help make Westbrook want to stay by trading for him now. Instead, they can just wait and provide the best landing spot for Westbrook next offseason.
Since it ain't the Dr. Buss/West led Lakers, what will they do?

If the Lakers roster stays as is and they win 25 or 30 games next year how appealing are they?

Oh sure. But if they trade the assets of a likely 25-30 win team to get Westbrook now, how good are they? Will they even make the playoffs? Why would he want to stay in the "go to the best team possible" era? It's very tricky.

If Westbrook really plans on going back to LA to play for the Lakers after next season, the Lakers would be retards to trade anything to get him one season early with no guarantee he will resign.
Wait the year, give up nothing and take your chances. If he doesn't sign when he was a FA, then he wasn't gonna resign if traded, so you lose nothing

I agree with you. Having the ability to offer the full 5 year max would be the main reason to do it.

Wouldn't shock me if he stays in OKC. He's a different type of dude.

read on twitter that part of the reason KD left was cause he didnt think Russ would stay pass free agency. He's gone.
some team will trade for him as a rental i suspect, but i dont think the package will be much unless he agrees to an extension with said team.
Boston with a slew of extra 1st make sense.
