When will the salary of coaches and professional athletes stop increasing?

It seems like every time I see a player signing a contract on TV, it's for hundreds of millions. Recently, We had Stanton in baseball signing a $325 million contract. Kevin Durant signed a 10 yr $300 million contract with Nike a few months ago. As we speak, the average salary of football and basketball coaches are increasing as well in the college level and pro level.
It's just sickening because when you think about it. Because where do you think Nike and the Marlins get their money from? It's from the fans and consumers. If you look at it on paper:
$$$(fans, consumers) ----> teams, companies ------> players
Money is flowing from your average Joes to the athletes with the teams/companies being the brokers.
That's why ticket prices are unaffordable these days. A basketball shoe by KD is what? $150? I make an decent living, but when I'm done paying mortgage, health insurance, car insurance, kid's schooling, food, utility, I'm left with maybe $20 in my pocket.

When will inflation cease to exist?

Techdawg,
You call it stupid without out providing any explanation why it's stupid. You're just labeling me because for some reason, I hit a sore spot.

Stealth, I don't know what about me being poor or not have to do with the issue of increasing salary of athletes and coaches.

inflation?
quote:
In economics, inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time. When the general price level rises, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services. Consequently, inflation reflects a reduction in the purchasing power per unit of money – a loss of real value in the medium of exchange and unit of account within the economy. A chief measure of price inflation is the inflation rate, the annualized percentage change in a general price index (normally the consumer price index) over time.

straigthcash,
I know what inflation is. But to say that's the cause for the increase is similar to saying that tears cause flooding.

It's a good question. One wonders if there is a point on the horizon when the bubble will burst like it did, say, in Italy's top soccer league about a decade back.
Most other salaries in America, particularly among those who have historically comprised the majority of people buying tickets etc, are certainly nowhere near rising with the increase or sports salaries or "inflation" for that matter.
TV contracts have increased wildly for a while, so I suppose the thought is that enough people aren't going to balk at increasing cable prices in the future and turn to other internet including free/illegal options.
