When will NIL contracts advance to start including damages if a season isn't completed....

In that same light, you could include bonuses for playing in bowl games, etc....
I mean this can be done, why just let the players get money and walk away scott free??
These kids are no longer amateurs that is gone, let's financially hold them accountable like adults.
Tie their $$ they so badly want to actually "working"

That’s between the player and the people that hire them. They aren’t working for the school.

That would be a deterrent to the player if other schools don’t have the same.

Stop being dramatic. That ain’t happening. The kids hold all the power now
There is so much money in the sport that if a kid leaves your program then your collective turns around and uses that money to pay another kid
It’s just the way it is
You just have to hope your school has enough donors who are ok throwing money away on players

Correct but the people that pay them have the same interests as the school.....success for that program....so again, why not put that in the contract???
Coaches have ALL kinds of clauses in theirs

That's pay for play which isn't allowed. Gordon does his contracts for 2-3 months at a time. That's the way to get around it.

Never! It's simple supply and demand. There will always be a market for the elite players. Why go where there is multiple strings attached, when someone else is willing to give you the same or more with no strings. It's a bidding war with some deep pockets. This has been happening forever. It's just in the open now. Opening it up with NIL only made it worse because now the people that didn't want to risk negative publicity from the behind the scenes crap are now all in.

The one rule to NIL is it can’t be tied to future performances.

It's the exact same as professional endorsements.

So you really have no ideas what the NIL rules are now? One of the very few rules they actually have regarding NIL is that it cannot be based on participating in any games.

All of this is between the kid and whoever is paying the NIL deal. I suspect they either have appearance-related payments or use them in commercials like Gordon. Because that is what they are getting paid for technically, not playing football.

You don’t have to be on the field to earn NIL. Commercials, posting sponsor’s name on social events, showing up at sponsor’s company events, etc.

In other words, you are asking why NIL contracts aren't "pay-for-play".

You still aren’t officially allowed to pay a player to play…(wink, wink)
