can't believe the amount of people saying Tomlinson.

LT is Lawrence Taylor. The end.

Tomlinson is the younger guy and the best running back a lot of us grew up with. I know who Lawrence Taylor is, but never watched him play

I'm kinda surprised before even knowing what the topic of the thread was and I saw LT I thought about Lawrence Taylor. I'm just 26 and never even saw him play but I mean he's a legend among legends.

that's a shame.

I loved Tomlinson but LT is Lawrence Taylor. Probably the best linebacker ever to play the game. Maybe the best defender ever to play the game. And he did it in NYC. It shouldn't but that makes a difference.

Yes I really can't believe that. Lawrence Taylor is so synonymous with the initials "LT" I never even considered that someone could possibly be thinking of someone else.

I never even considered Ladainian. I always just called him, ya know, Ladainian. Never even occurred to me. And even at 34, Taylor was still a little before my time.

Did you not watch football when he was playing?

I think of both, probably Tomlinson first since he played more recently.

33.

Definitely understandable.

All you younger guys missed out though. The dude was a BEAST long before being one was a "thing".

Late 30's

Taylor redefined his position. Tomlinson, while great, was not a transcendent player IMHO.

So, Lawrence Taylor played from 1981-1993. You were born in 1981. Tell me how you were watching and deducting his greatness as a 4 year old Why do some of the younger people thinks this makes them sound cool or edgy to like the old things? Is this the hipster movement?

I saw an 18 year old say Lawrence Taylor, who finished his career 3 years before they were born

I'm 23, so Ladanian is LT to me. Not taking anything away from Lawrence Taylor. I played LB growing up so I used to watch his highlights all the time and know that he changed the position. But for anyone 25 and under LT is the guy you saw being called LT on sportscenter every night, not the guy you saw highlights of on tv 5 times a year
