Hey wizard of smart, Tech/ULM was scheduled to be played in Indy Bowl last season but ULM cancelled due to Covid.

Literally no one ever thought that game would be played.

Conversation by Tech athletic dept:

"I know, let's schedule ULM. They really suck this year and it will get cancelled anyway because of Covid."

"Yeah! They we can say we would have played. It will look like we really wanted to play them."

These are FBS college athletic departments, not message board morons.

Covid year. Options were limited then. Games were supposed to be more regional because of that. It’s sad that Tech is only willing to play ULM during a pandemic, and against ULM’s worst team.

Here’s the thing, ULM loses to Tech, woopty doo. Nobody cares because Tech should beat ULM in football. ULM beats Tech, and Tech looks really bad for losing to ULM. Tech is scared of losing to ULM and that’s what it really boils down to.

And I doubt you hate Tech as much as I do. Remember, I went to NLU when we beat them regularly, had players who ended up in the NFL. I grew up near Shreveport. My hate game is strong. Bad look or not.

Duh...it's joking. But no ULM alums I know believed that game would ever be played. Nobody bought tickets or planned on going. It was a given. It was never going to be played.

Yeah... The issue with Tech ULM is that both administrations want the first game. You also have an issue where both departments need two money games a year, sometimes three with a 2-1 to help a season ticket push, and need an FCS for a win, and a winnable G5 H-H. Both have games scheduled well in advance and no matter who hosts what game after a revenue split neither team makes enough to say no to a P5 check.

It's not NCAA 14 where you schedule for that year, these things have to be planned out and neither administration has moved off the first home game. It also does ULM no service to say they will stop playing ooc in Olympic sports because LTU takes a hit in their RPI playing those games, unlike UL who gave LTU an SOS and RPI boost. ULMs AD needs to tell LTU, "You get game one in Ruston, tell us when, 70-30 gate split for both games, let's make it happen." I know with LTU current situation and with Bowden having ULM looking like an FBS team it looks like ULM wields the power, but they need LTU for gates in MBB and Baseball as well as an RPI boost.

I was planning a trip to shreveport at one point to go with some of my old teammates if my schedule had worked out.

I had already bought tickets and parking passes. Guess I wasn't in on the "conversation" that "everybody" knew actually happened.

I'm not in the least bit scared of losing to ULM, because if we do, it might convince our administration it's time to move on and change leadership.

Kinda thought losing to Old Dominion would accomplish that, but I guess not.

Time to go back to the old days. All these mid level D1 teams lose an assload of money on football. Move em all back to D1-AA or whatever its called now. La Tech, ULM, USL, McNeese, Southeastern, Nicholls, Northwestern, and we'll take in Southern Miss. Southland Conference rides again.

They typically lose it in Olympic sports. Most make money in Football and LTU UL make money in MBB, the transfer is to pay for staff, transportation, facilities, scholarships, and lagniappe for T&F, tennis, softball, soccer, etc.

This right here tells me to never take seriously anything you have to say.

Football and Men’s Basketball is used to prop up all the other sports, and in some few cases like LSU and Louisiana, baseball and softball breaks into the positive a bit.
