Heck, in Little League that used to get you berated by your coaches & thrown at in your next at bat.

Every baseball team from little league to the majors does some dumb shite where they look back at the dugout and do a hand motion and it’s the lamest shite in all of sports.

It is pretty gay I agree.
I also think people that get butthurt about pitchers going after hitters are gay.
The entire home plate area is fair game for where a pitch may go, whether it’s intentional or not. If you don’t want to risk getting domed or beaned, don’t be a position player or do shite that may irk the guy enough on the mound to give up a base to shut you up.

Do you even watch baseball? Pretty much every team has a base hit celebration aimed at the dugout. That kind of stuff is decades old.
