1990 Ruston team. We had a good team and got destroyed. Think they were ranked #1 in nation. Rodney young. Bobby Williams. Roymon Malcolm.

When I played for Jacksonville in American Legion, we made it to the State Championship in Single A. Played Jonesboro. They run ruled us. They got a bye and we had to play the state championship game 30 minutes after we beat Texarkana. Coach was pissed. But considering we were the first Jacksonville team to even win a single game in the state tournament, we were happy.

Texas 3A football state champs made an absolute mockery of us my senior year, but no big names in the game.
We were basically spectators by the end of the half.

That 1980 Jesuit team literally won everything. State champs National Champs and Legion World Series champs too. Just insane.

The 1980 team did NOT win the American Legion World Series, Hawaii did. That 1980 team won two state prep championships and two state legion chorion ships but did not win the World Series. Jesuit has won three American Legion world championships, 1946 i believe. 1960 and last year.

I wasn't a player, but my high school basketball team got housed by Kevin Garnett and Ronnie Fields.
KG needs no explaining buy everyone thought Ronnie Fields was the next MJ.
He would score 30 a game, all highlight reel dunks, nevermind the fact he had no jumper and only dribbled with his left hand.

John Curtis the first year they were bumped down. Joe McKnight ran all over us.

Played Destrehan in baseball when they had Beau Jones and were rated top 5 in America. I roped him one time for a hit and popped up the other time off him. Also our lead off hitter popped up one time also. Outside that, he struck out every other batter.

Didn't really face any elite teams in football. The best we played was OP Walker, they had Mike Wallace he destroyed us.
We played Curtis my freshman year, don't remember if they had any studs in football or baseball then.

Jonathan Bender played at one of the best high school basketball programs/traditions in Mississippi, Picayune HS. He was a great player, and a great shooter but as the previous poster said knee problems and was I believe like 185lb and 6'11. A toothpick in the NBA.

I remember seeing him in highschool. My brother played for Gautier and they were playing in a tourney in Biloxi. Jonathan Bender and Ronald Dupree were playing in it.

06 Bastrop Rams
Randall Mackey Ole miss
Reuben Randle Lsu
Deangelo Benton Auburn
Kentravious Aubrey Lsu
Josh Downs Lsu
Numerous others. I think the whole d-line was committed to sec schools at one point whether they made it or not. Team was unreal Mackey would drop back and run around until randle or benton ran by your db and just uncork a bomb. I think we were down 42-0 at half time. It was unfair to have a qb mackey's capability with 2 5* receivers on one team
