What’s the best area to sit for a MLB game?

I’m looking at going to a Rangers game this summer, but it’s been years since I’ve been to a MLB game. Any recommendations on which sections to try to get tickets in general or specifically in Arlington? TIA

I’ve enjoyed sitting in the middle of the first base line

I’m a firm believer in the idea that there isn’t a bad seat in the stadium for 99% of modern sporting venues especially if it’s for a midsummer baseball game when the crowd likely won’t be packed

I’ve only been to Arlington a handful of times so I will defer to a more regular poster like McCaigBro for specific recommendations....but I will say the one thing I remember thinking each time I’ve been is how happy I was that I was sitting in the shade, so I suggest you make that a priority

According to the Rangers, you’ll fry your balls off in the heat just thinking about going to that stadium....

I like to sit right even with 3B, pretty much anywhere

I hadn’t thought about heat aspect. 3:05PM Saturday game in June a bad idea? Or are there sections that are better for shade?

For the most economic bang for your buck, 2nd level 3b side. That is where we go when we go to Rangers games. Of course, the first levels
3B side are the best but that is where it gets expensive.

3rd base second deck is where I've usually sat when going to MLB games

For MLB the best place to sit is in the lowest rows of the upper deck behind first or third base.

The worst places are in the outfield and all the seats in the lowest section, especially in the area behind home plate.

Yikes.

Get a suite.

Is a suite different than a box? I read that some of the boxes still get really hot.

If I’m looking for shade, anyone have experience in higher rows of sections 33/34, section 134, or sections 231-235?

Just past the 3rd base dugout in the lower level has always been my favorite.

The sun will get you good if you sit anywhere further down the 3rd base line in Arlington if it’s a game where first pitch is after 4.

Yeah box seats are out in the crowd. A suite has a/c

Midday on June in Texas is going to be hell hot. It just will be.

I did a gig back in the day at the old Busch in St Louis. Midday vs braves on a Saturday in July. Reporting from the stands I think baked 5 years off of my life it was so fricking hot.

If you're not a Rangers fan, my recommendation is make the drive to Houston. Much better team and much better stadium.

I’d prefer that, but it’s nearly twice the distance. Not worth it for a weekend getaway.

I used to work for the Rangers actually. You will be hot anywhere you sit but there’s good shade in the last couple of row around the lower bowl.
