but without Allen's 3-pointer, LBJ watches the Spurs celebrate another title after misses a game-tying 3
You keep saying without the play of his teammate, the series would be over blah blah blah.
Then why are posters like you so hypocritical in that any time someone mentions Lebron's supporting cast for 7 years bringing him down, that's NEVER an excuse.
You can't have it both ways if you want to be logical or rational, pick one.

Yep. Here's a question. Everybody is already saying that the shot that Ray Allen hit was the biggest moment in a HOF career. What is Ray Allen's legacy if LeBron doesn't score 16 points in the 4th quarter to put Ray in that position to hit that 3? What individual "shot" will be his signature moment?

What would jordan be without Steve Kerr or bj armstrong? Both hit huge shot s in big playoff games

Lets be clear LeBron choked down the stretch.
Amazing. 16 points in the 4th quarter and he choked. Let's judge him by the last 90 seconds of one game and not the 4th quarter or the entire game. Let's also ignore the fact that he is 6'8 260 lbs and being asked to guard one of the quickest point guards in the NBA. Let's also ignore the fact that he has the highest scoring average of any player in elimination games in NBA history. Let's just call him a choke for a turnover and a few missed shots against a great team playing with the defensive intensity that you would expect when a world championship is within it's grasp.
If LeBron is a choke, what do you call Tim Duncan who went scoreless in the 4th quarter and overtime after absolutely owning Chris Bosh for 3 quarters?

OK, so even if I'm running at around a 25 percent success rate, that's still >>> than LBJ's fourth-quarter shooting percentage
and your point is what again?
That you suck at math?

Did he have 16 in the 4th? ESPNs box score says differently.

I think the worst part of all of this GOAT discussion is that if LeBron doesn't measure up, which he doesn't, then he's a bum, which he's not.
LeBron's style of play doesn't lend itself to beating out Jordan for GOAT. He just defers too much to others. Jordan and LeBron have close enough regular season Usage rates, but Jordan crushes him in the playoffs.
Jordan Reg Usg 33.3% Playoffs Usg 35.6%
LeBron Reg Usg 31.7% Playoffs Usg 31.4%
When the games matter most, Jordan controls the game even more than normal. That's why Jordan gets so much credit despite getting help from role players. Because Jordan played a larger role than LeBron in winning not 1, not 2, not 3...
There's nothing wrong with being in the conversation for 2nd GOAT.

What's wrong with my math?
If I have a 25 percent success rate and LBJ's shooting percentage is lower than 25 percent, then Me >>> LBJ is accurate
Did you fail that part in school when they teach you greater than and less than symbols?

And "usage rates" doesn't lend itself to measuring defensive versatility. MJ was a great defender but LeBron is the most verstatile defender in NBA history.

The thread was a "what if" the way I read it?
He asked the hypothetical then I gave my thoughts. Is legacy is not tarnished, hence the title of the thread.

"Moving along to game four of the 92' finals, Jordan pulled in 32 points off 26 shots. Out of the 26 shots he took, he made good on 11. The kicker is that he had five turnovers and couldn't score the last 10 minutes and thirty seconds of the game. Even Jordan couldn't be clutch all of the time. Now we have arrived at the 93' NBA finals Game three, once again Jordan pulled in 44 points on a whopping 43 shots! Out of the 43 jacked up, he only made good on 19. The cherry on top is that Michael only hit one of 10 shots in the fourth quarter. MJ not looking so God-like anymore is he? The 96' finals were by far in my opinion the worst of Michael's career. In game two, Michael took 22 shots posting 29 points, making good on only nine of those shots. To start the third quarter, Michael would miss seven straight shots and he will miss six free-throws for the game. In game four, Michael would have yet another bad game, scoring 23 points on 19 shots making good on only six of those. He only had three rebounds and two assists to add to that. "Oh I'm just warming up. In game six, Jordan's close out performance was very uninspiring to say the least, again scoring 22 points on 19 shots making good on just five of those shots this time around. He would go on to add five turnovers to that. A good point to remember is that, this is his third bad game in the same finals series." true, but he has already lost 2 finals One with the Cavs, one with the Heat
So Jordan led a crappy team to the finals on his back alone only to lose to a number of future hall of famers coached by possibly the greatest x's and O's coach ever?

Still the GOAT out of players whose teammates had intercourse with their mother.
