Well they are getting a fancy new one in yet another FMOL scam similar to LSU

Donation for naming rights to a stadium is kind of different than an illegal embezzled slush fund to pay student athletes' families.

Is the ACC considered a group of 5 conference now? Is know they lost to USC the other night, but they had a pretty good season and beat Notre Dame.

Very simple. Allow UL to have home games against the power conferences. They will win their share of them. That’s when the respect will start.

Well…we did finish the 2020 and 2021 seasons ranked in the top 20, and higher than Orgeron’s LSU teams those years (since you posted his picture).

But our administration pissed all that away and I highly doubt we’ll ever get anywhere near that again. frick Martin Hall.

Our current “leadership” doesn’t want to schedule 3 for 1s.

Ray Authement was very good at growing the university and developing it as a competitive research university but he loathed athletics and didn’t have the vision to see how athletic growth can stimulate a university. Cajuns got a 50 year late start on building a proper athletic department the Cajuns missed out on creating a larger organic fan base. Hudspeth did some good things and Napier did some outstanding things but it continues to be 1 step forward two steps back

I like what they're doing with the Cajun Field renovations, but the administration needs to do something to put butts in the seats. You have a small % of people in Lafayette that truly care enough to attend the games. And the student buy-in, even during the Napier years, has been nonexistent. Maybe the new stadium and a decent name brought in to replace Desormeaux will be a start.

Well said. Ultimately you have to put a winning product on the field. You also have to get better opponents coming to town.

Realistically you will never get Top tier SEC programs coming to town. But it’s not impossible to work a deal with teams like South Carolina, Missouri, Ole Miss or Mississippi State to play a game at Cajun Field.

Having a well known coach like Orgeron for example would get people interested. Basically you’d have to do what Tulane has done over the past 5-7 seasons. Spend the money. Play the big names. That costs money. Lafayette has money it’s just a matter of getting the right people in charge and fund raising.

Demanding the media call ULL by their athletic name, while their school name is different (before earning respect) will not

You mean like LSUA&M? What a dum frick statement. And for the Louisville geniuses, they are U of L; They have never been UL.

Stop calling themselves UL

LSU’s President, AD and even the HC could come out and openly announce UL Lafayette as tUL and only refer to them as Louisiana.

This would not effect the LSU brand what so ever. The thought that UL choosing to brand as “Louisiana” can hurt LSU is mental midget behavior. There’s nothing UL could ever do to catch up to LSU. Why are some LSU fans so insecure about this?

the state of Ohio is very similar to Louisiana in how big football is. You have the blue blood flagship in OSU then you have multiple smaller G5 schools one of which is called “Ohio”. Does Ohio University branding themselves as “Ohio” hurt The Ohio State brand? More so, do OSU fans love to shite on Ohio University fans and make sure they know their place?

This is asinine. But hey it’s Louisiana so nothing is surprising

Louisiana Governor elect is a UL grad from St Martinville. Never attended LSU.

If there was a time to fix this once and for all it’s now. UL Lafayette is the flagship of the UL system. Therefore they maintain the legal authority to be called “The University of Louisiana” or “The University of Louisiana main campus”. The pharmacy school remains in Monroe and the school there is “The University of Louisiana-Monroe”.

Every state in the union has two state universities.

I don’t think that matters much. We’re Louisiana at Lafayette for an official
university name.

The athletic branding we’ve pushed is Louisiana. I won’t draw comparisons to Texas like some Cajuns fans do, because that is apples to oranges.

I will draw comparison to U of Nevada-Reno. They branded themselves as Nevada Wolfpack for athletics, because UNLV already had their branding.

Same with us. Louisiana-Monroe is ULM, and so we have gone with Louisiana.

Ray Authement actually proactively tried to choke and strangle athletics. He desired us to be a DIII program with no athletic scholarships.

It always does because LSU fans who live in trailers in places like Simmesport and Jennings but never stepped foot inside one of the classrooms get penis shrinkage when “Louisiana Ragin Cajuns” is said on TV or written in media.

The "UL? Hurrrrrrr you're talking about Louisville right?" Posts are always may favorite seeing as Louisville uses U of L, not UL.

quote:

For all usages the University of Louisville may be abbreviated as UofL on second reference, written with no space after the "U" and before the "L." Never use the university monogram, UofL, as a substitute for UofL in text or headlines.
