At least adding a layer with some grip to it is a relatively minor fix.
Simple like some kind of glass/plastic dome on top of it!

Why was it not built fully enclosed?

got to imagine it raining there and it being muggy and everything sweating and being slippery af.
Californians: “Buildings SWEAT!!!??? Brooooooh… Weathers craaazy man…..!”
This past month the entire elevator at my work parking garage has sweat 3 separate times. I mean sweat!! Looks like the lower back of an old man in a sauna.

I don’t get it. If you don’t need to enclose the stadium because California weather is great then why cover the stadium at all? Nothing wrong with an outdoor stadium.

I missed it, but how did that stadium get the game? I thought the NC was for the Sugar, Fiesta, Rose, etc.

At least the power didn’t go out

As bad as ConEd is with starting forest fires, at least they don’t have Entergy as a power provider. The lights would have gone out the minute it started raining with Entergy.

Is the new Las Vegas stadium getting the game in the future?

Las Vegas was supposed to host the 2025 game, but they had a scheduling conflict with the Consumer Electronics Show. Vegas is favorite for the 2027 title game when the new contract comes out.

Yes. Allegiant is a great stadium. We had a blast at the Pac-12 champs and it will be perfect for the CFP, especially with the vast majority of people staying on the Strip. The logistics are extremely easy. The actual parking for tailgating is very limited however.

NC game has been its own thing for over 15 years now.

My guess is they didnt want to have to heat or cool it because they wanted to be “green” or some shite. Cali is trying to bring us back to the 1800s

They put a roof on it because that one big huge place to advertise the sponsor of the stadium. They didn't enclose it because, well, SoCal weather. I've been here 11 years and I've seen lightning MAYBE a dozen times. You don't design the place for the rare exception.

It will be interesting if any of the newer stadiums get the game. Since Indianapolis got the title game last year, would Minneapolis or Detroit ever get it? What about Santa Clara?

That makes sense I guess. But it is still surprising some panels to keep the rain out wasn't built on. Or the roof wasn't built better to stop rain from leaking in.

The title game Clemson blew out Alabama was in Santa Clara.

It's a pretty cool design, it's kind of grown on me.
Same. The design is great.
Better for views than practicality. Which they're able to (mostly) get away with thanks to the climate there.
That stadium design barely flies there. Would be instantly rejected just about everywhere else.

We’re in a dome and it’s still fricking freezing in here. $23 beers and dickhead security. Can’t wait for the Natty to go back to the south where it belongs!
I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t experience that at all. And there was no beer that was $23. You could get a 25 oz bud light for $15. Not great, but I’ve had worse. Weather was miserable outside the stadium for sure. And I thought the security people/workers were all nice.

Glad you had a good time! And congrats on the natty

Right. I meant will Santa Clara ever get it again? I remember a lot of backlash having it there.
