Mack fricking Brown.

Bold move.
In a way, I'm actually looking forward to this disaster.

Kansas is a bottom feeder, atrocious program though. They got Les because of the idiot AD and because no one else would hire him and very few probably wanted that job.

North Carolina is at least an attractive destination. It plays in a god awful division and is located in a region with some talent.

It could actually lure a solid coach.

Kansas is just a wasteland.

Kansas will be better than UNC with their new coaches.

I'd guess they'll play up "restoring integrity to the program" type language.

Opposite thing. UNC got rid of a Fedora, Kansas got a new Hat.

Is it really though? People say this about 90% of FBS, how many is it actually true for?

Kansas has been to “good bowl” more recently than UNC.

UNC seems like a sleeping gaint but no one can really seem to get that job out of the gutter

UNC is a sleeping giant, like UCLA, like Texas A&M. At some point, you aren't -- you are just destined to never live up to any potential people see in you/.

I see why they made that move. Mack had success there and he's coming back to stabilize the program. He's a familiar name that will keep the donors happy. He has the connections to bring in good coaches and coordinators. Right the ship for a few years, build a solid foundation, and pass it off to the next coach when the time comes. He doesn't need to win the ACC, just bring the program to respectability.

Isn’t he almost 70? I did not see this coming. The good news is he won’t be a TV analyst anymore.

You do know that Brown coached at UNC for decade. He knows the area and where to recruit.

I can't believe it's been over 20 years since Mack Brown was coaching UNC. I still remember that 97 defense with Dre Bly, Vonnie Holliday, and Greg Ellis. It was probably the best team in UNC history.

Also, I feel old.
