MLB- Cubs... My little bro and I used to watch them on WGN all summer in the 80's. Harry Carey, Sandberg, Dawson, Mark Grace, the Ivy.

NFL- Saints

NCAA- LSU

2nd NCAA Football- Notre Dame. I know this will get hate, but their tradition is awesome, and they have the best fight song ever. Would never pull for them head to head against LSU, but college football is better when Notre Dame is good. Period.

Oops I forgot.

NCAA Baseball- MSU. It kind of sucks not having a very good baseball team and I have to pick an SEC team so I guess the good old bulldogs

NCAA sports: LSU-Grew up in LA as a fan, and now attend.

MLB: Cubs-Went to my first MLB game in Wrigley when Todd Walker player for them. Loved them from then on...unfortunately

NBA: Pelicans-Pull for the team from LA.

NHL: Blackhawks-Since I was a Cubs fan and Chicago is my favorite city, I started pulling for the Hawks a while back.

3. Dallas Cowboys

4. Jeff Gordon

5. New Orleans Saints

6. Cincinnati Reds

When I was 4 years old my father pointed to the television and said.

"Son, that is the New Orleans Saints, that is the team we root for"

and I said

"Okay daddy"

and a lifetime of sports team devotion was born.

It's primarily about location. I root for the O's because I grew up in Maryland. I root for the Caps and Ravens for the same reason.

But I've now lived in Dallas for nearly a decade. I tend to root for the local teams because I know more about them and I go to games, and it stupid not to have a rooting interest. If the Rangers and O's play, I piss off my wife and wear an O's cap, but usually, I pull for the Rangers. Proximity plays a huge role (as does that local TV contract, I don't always feel like firing up the Roku).

Except the Cowboys. They truly are a reprehensible franchise that is impossible to root for. Besides, sports talk radio is much more entertaining when they lose.

NBA and NFL: Detroit Pistons/Lions...spent the first 24 years of my life in Michigan, so pulling for those teams goes without saying.

MLB: San Francisco Giants...was a "fan" ever since the 1989 World Series (was seven at the time). Bonds was my favorite player growing up, so when he went to the Giants that sealed it for life.

Saints: born and raise in NOLA. No explanation required
Rockets: closest NBA team to me as a kid and those title teams during my early teenage years sealed it. I never picked up in being a Pelicans/Hornets fan when they returned to NOLA
MLB: Rangers. Became a fan when I moved to Dallas
CFB: FSU and LSU. I went to school there for school.

NBA: Houston Rockets
I lived in Houston when I was little and watched games whenever I could. Hakeem was my favorite player growing up and I even went so far as to make contruction paper jerseys with his name on it. Even after moving to Atlanta in elementary school I kept my loyalty to the Rockets.

MLB: Houston Astros
Basically the same reason as the Rockets. I'm a lifelong Astros fan and have basically seen the best and worst and this franchise in the almost 21 years I've been alive. I've still yet to go to a game at Minute Maid Park, but I've seen multiple games at the Astrodome, although I was so young thay I barely remembrr them. Bags was easily my favorite player growing up and people always made fun of me (probably rightfully so) for trying to imitate his swing when I played baseball.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars
This is a funny one, since I was originally an Oilers fan until Bud Adams hightailed it out of there with the team. Im not sure if it was their first game as the Titans or not, but my dad told me to root for the Jaguars against them and thats what I did. I think I just really liked saying Jaguars when I was a kid because I kept watching them when they were on TV. Even though I was only 5/6, I still remember that season where all 3 of our losses were to the Titans

College Sports: Texas Longhorns and Auburn Tigers
I could have gone either way in terms of being a Longhorn or an Aggies when I was little, as my dad is a UT alum and my mom is an A&M alum. But I was more attached to my dad when I was little and typically watched football with him, so naturally he pushed me towards the horns. The first season I can remember watching Texas was Mack's first season, where Ricky won the Heisman. God damn could Ricky play. I didnt really know much then, but I knew that he was good. And I've been a UT fan ever since. And a quick shoutout to some of the basketball teams that Barnes has fielded: the '03 team led by TJ Ford that could have won it all had it not run into the Carmelo buzzsaw, the team from LMA's last season, Durant's one year here with DJ Augustin at the point (major underachievers btw, considering there are 4-5 players from thay team on NBS rosters), and the team that made it to UT's first ever #1 ranking before shitting the bed in glorious fashion.

Unfortunately, life took me in a different direction and I now attend Auburn, as I never took high school seriously enough to get into Texas from OoS. I didn't really know much about Auburn before I got here outside of the 2004 and 2010 seasons, as well as the infamous 3-2 game. My time here has been a rollercoaster for sure. I've seen quite possibly one of, if not, the worst Auburn teams in history as well as the greatest turn around ever in the following season. I love Auburn and will continue to grow more passionate about our teams as I grow older. It would be nice to see a competitive basketball team every once in a while, though. Just saying.

EPL: Liverpool
Always hated bandwagoning Man United fans and for some reason thought that Liverpool was a cool name. Then when I saw them play, I fell in love with the style of one, Steven Gerrard. Flying up and down the field and rocketing shots from 30-40 yards out on a consistent basis, his play kept me attached to them and I've been a fan going on 12 or so years now

NFL: Broncos, Saints
MLB: Rockies, Nationals
NHL: Avalanche, Capitals
NBA: Nuggets, Pelicans
NCAA (all): Colorado State, LSU

I don't like X basketball and Y football. That's lame.

I have ties to Colorado, DC, Louisiana. Have degrees from to CSU and LSU.

Cubs
Vikings
Lakers
USMNT
Ohio State (though I stopped following college football)
Wolverhampton
Real Madrid (huge Ronaldo fanboy)

I just liked all my dad's teams. Not exactly sure why he picked those squads, but I now follow quite a few of them closely.

The soccer teams and the Cubs are my own followings.

NFL(Green Bay)-Born in WI, whole family from the Midwest, own some shares of the team.

MLB(Seattle Mariners)-Spent my formative years growing up in Seattle, started watching baseball during the only good stretch in Mariner history

NBA(None)-Used to be the Sonics, don't watch anymore. Lived in LA for a while during the Lakers championships runs, but could never get into them.

College (Auburn)-Moved to Alabama for work and am going to grad school there
