You clearly don’t get it.
He was paid out for the remainder of his contract this year (actually slightly less) that he was going to get either way. He was immediately signed by another team because he isn’t bad, just not worth his current contract. He did not get any extra money. The Nets are bad and get him off the team he won’t be on next year, he gets a chance to go to a contender for the remaining season.
Do you bitch about failed CEOs getting millions cause I kind of bet you don’t. Are you aware you have to buy out coaches contracts?

The league earns X, the players get roughly half of that. If X is billions, you’re going to be handing out a lot of multi million dollar contracts to players. The money has to go somewhere.
As long as people are lining up to pay for seats, merch, league pass, etc then fans are saying this is what they want. If you opt out, you’ll stop caring how much of a cut a bum like Ben Simmons is getting because it’s not your money.

What should be the issue is when teams get some public financing from cities to build new stadiums/arenas to maximize revenue and then pay these contracts.
