me, too. that was HORRIBLE. and my "son" was laughing at me as I curled up in a fetal position to try to make the pain go away. i have since disowned him.....

1978 Lost to the #1 team in the state at Homecoming!! We played SO hard and NOBODY said we could win.But we had it and OUR kicker missed a PAT that would have won it with 3 seconds left. It was a hard pill to swallow!!!

auburn 2006 has been mentioned in this thread...it's still my worst loss in history

1)Game 7 of the 2005 Rockets-Mavs playoff series, I almost threw up in disbelief that a professional basketball team couldn't even show up for that kind of game.
2)The '05 World Series,
3)2007 Rockets Losing to Utah in 7, Those flopping european mofo's piss me off.
Those are all pretty much tied for first.

Funny, that's one of my best sports moments.

I think I already replied to this once, but this is easily worth two posts.
2006/07 BCS NC game.
Ohio State vs Florida.
Florida by a lot.

FWIW, I left the party I was at during halftime, went home and sat alone in my room.
Turned the TV back on, saw we were still getting whooped and felt embarassed beyond belief.
"frick it. I'm watching something else."

My boys said they saw Haslett and half the team on Bourbon at 1:00 am before that Vikings game.
Teams stay overnight in the city they're playing in, which was Minneapolis so that's bullshite.
Saints loss to the Bears in the NFC Championship game is the worst for me, closely followed by the Hornets WC semi-finals loss to the Spurs in game seven last year.

The game we are talking about was in New Orleans.

probably the '03 basketball national championship. kansas missed like 18 free throws and lost by three, it was just fricking ridiculous getting owned by 2 freshmen. kansas was much better than syracuse.

I can't imagine how any regular season game vs. Minny in the Haslett era would qualify as ''worst sports moment ever.''

Yeah Hornets-Spurs has to be up there, i think game 3 was the turning point in that series, if i remember we were leading into the 4th and then fell apart. We only won game 5 b/c of an amazing game by West.

The three Hornets seasons prior to it( 2 in okie hell + 18-64) made the run that much sweeter.

when dante' culpepper scored a two point conversion to beat the saints in regulation when they were trailing by 1 with no time left on the clock.

Three come to mind..
1) Saints playoff loss to Michael Haynes and the Falcons in 1991....I think we lost 27-20, and the Haynes TD in the 4th came right to our end zone...
I was 9 at the time, and after the game some guy came up to me and gave me his Saints pin, saying "Welcome to life as a Saints fan...you'll understand one day"
2) Astros WS loss in 2006...I knew it was over when they lost in 14 innings in Game 3...took a while to get over that one...
3) Most livid I've ever been after a game was 2005 Tennessee...was my first time in the suites and was pounding Bomday Sapphire in the 1st Half...I quit drinking midway through the 4th quarter....
frickin' Ricky Clausen...
