Uh, yea, really. What SEC town would any non-Southerner ever want to live in? Even Nashville kinda blows, as far as "big" cities go. Ever been north of the Mason Dixon or west of the Mississippi?

Non-Southerner

Why would we recruit non-Southerners? No need to leave the South for players.

There has been a real influx of kids from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey coming to Oxford.

UCLA gave up on caring about college football along time ago. That university basically gave the city of LA to USCw.

Funny you typed that I am from the Delaware Valley (metro philly) and I would rate Oxford the number one college town I have been to above Athens, State College, Lincoln, T-Town etc.

ETA Eddie O proved you can recruit kids to Ole Miss he just could not coach them

They come (or stay) for the football program (BTW, did I not say Athens and Nashville were generally considered nice towns?), not the city. No one goes to Auburn because they want to live in Auburn.

Eugene, OR is absolutely gorgeous, as is most of the state of Oregon.

Oregon does not yet have the bling of players in the NFL that is showcased in facilities as part of the recruiting sell

Trust me Alabama will have a mural as big as a sheet of plywood commerating this years draft

which is what kills Oregon imo. Sure they are on a national stage and in the Rose Bowl. But, they really don't have any players that recruits can see on Sundays.

In the past 2 years much players havent been drafted but we have a decent amount in the NFL. Oregons got three starting safeties in the NFL right now drafted in the last 4 years.

Blount and J.stewart are legit NFL players.
Ngata is pretty beast.

I am not sure about WVU unless they improve recently. In the book "Three & Out" it goes into Rich Rod's battle to improve the facilities

anyone to takes RR word need their head checked. We def had the best in the BE b/c we care more than the rest. Rutgers has pretty nice stuff to. Even when RR was coach we had started dumping loads of cash into them and Dana is basically having his wish list met right now
