Saints and Jazz are both unique and it's a damn shame they aren't in the same city anymore.

For some reason I've always liked the Toronto Mapleleafs name and color scheme.

In the 1949 movie Easy Living, about a pro football player, there is a scene in a locker room showing the team's upcoming schedule on a blackboard. One of the teams listed is called the Saints.

I've waited YEARS to mention this

Man, most of those names a re terrible or nonsensical. The Dodgers and Redskins are named for things that happened in other cities, and now make zero sense now they have moved (trolley dodging in Brooklyn and the Boston Tea Party disguise, respectively). In new cities, those names make no sense and are flat out terrible.

The Red Wings is just describing the jersey, which predates the name. Admittedly, the jerseys are f'n awesome. The name is on the same the level as teams named after a color.

The Packers are just naming your team after your sponsor (Acme Packing Co.). Celtics is a cool name, too bad they can't pronounce it correctly.
