What does the PAC do to survive?

Being proactive clearly isn’t their strong suit, turning their noses up at past expansion opportunities that would have solidified their future, sitting on their hands and getting dunked on by the worst overall athletic program in their conference
They are completely fricked and about to lose Oregon, Washington, and probably Arizona. This is about survival, and they need to accomplish all of this within a month
1. Fire everyone on the board and the conference commissioner. Replace the commish with someone that actually has a vision for the conference
2. Expand right now. Go get SDSU, SMU, and Tulane to immediately get back to 12 teams.
3. Get a TV deal done ASAP. Take whatever the best offer is you can get from the mouse and Apple TV
4. Clean house of all the useless PR and media people who haven’t done shite to promote the conference

Nothing. When Oregon and Washington leave soon, it's over

When the music’s over, turn out the lights.

They’re about to venture into streaming. The ones left behind will make about $15 mil per year.

Hilarious that you would somehow add Tulane to this but SDSU already backed out of going to the Pac-12 to stay in the MWC

No chance the PAC is even sniffing double digits when the dust settles.
They’ll be lucky to get 7 million a school once the four corners plus Washington and Oregon leave. Even that may be too high.

Tulane will absolutely be high in the list because academic prestige matters to the PAC for some strange reason.

SDSU has a 34 mill exit fee. Pac could
Have had them last month.

1. Wave goodbye to USC, UCLA, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.
2. Invite Colorado State, UNLV, SMU, and San Diego State.
3. Rebrand as the MWC 2.0.
4. Enjoy making half as much money as the Big 12 schools.

The PAC should do a strategic move and add all of the MWC schools plus Montana and Idaho.
Then cut a streaming deal with Tubi or Samsung Streaming.

I guess I could see some kind of thing where like Stanford and Cal try to put together an academic conference after 3 more Pac teams bail to the Big 12

Lol the AAC will be better than the pac. Unlv or sdsu shouldn’t leave at this point

The group of five/six is going to be so far left in the dust in this new era it might as well be a completely different classification.

Pretty sure the studies and commissions I've seen floating around are mentioning a new governing body over college football only (NCFA) with all other sports remaining under the oversight of NCAA.
That would make sense to me. I have yet to see the minimum criteria listed on who would be able to make a move to the NCFA.

I would hope they would have the courage to dissolve the conference before lowering themselves to offering membership to schools like SMU and Tulane

The music was over for the Big 12 in 2011. It looks dire for the PAC but the Big 12 proved you can create a viable conference out of misfit toys.

The Big XII has much better leadership to survive a sinking ship. The PAC has no leadership
Even if you think Tulane sucks. Add Memphis, Colorado State, UNLV… Just do something

This implies that they will get off their high horse about potential members.
Cal in particular likes to put on airs about the academic superiority that the league is supposed to represent. Problem is that it isn’t an academic conference but an athletic one.
Hence why I piss on their chances to right the ship.

Pac just released a statement saying no expansion until after the tv deal.
