Nothing. Just another superstar who will eventually leave New Orleans

It puts AD at the 5 where he’s a bigger mismatch than at the 4. Perfect for Gentry’s style of play too.

Trade him and get another top pick. Grab yourself two starters that you can tie up and go to work.

He won't stay. There's no coming back from what he did last year.

It doesn't solve any of the major structural problems with the ownership, or that the team lacks a true playmaking guard, and is going to be cap-handicapped for the foreseeable future.
Jrue Holiday and friends just aren't going to be enough; you can probably find a trade partner for Randal, but you still need another backcourt piece to become a contender, realistically-- and even then, you'll have no margin of error in FA.

This helps the lakers out and ruins the Knicks. It's going to come down to whether or not Boston wants to get serious
LOL, the #4 pick isn't anything special.
The drop-off in this draft was from #3 with RJ Barett to the 4th pick.

Let the Knicks and Lakers bid for him. You’re guaranteed Zion. No matter which pick you get, you’re guaranteed to get one of Morant, Reddish, or Barrett.
Knicks can send #3, Knox, and DSJ.
Lakers can send #4, Hart, and Kuzma.

They definitely need a wing and another guard.

I don’t even know where to start with this

For Anthony Davis?

Increases their trade leverage, at the least. I think it's still better that they move on, build around Zion, Jrue, and the haul they get for AD.

That’s the basis of the trade package. Another pick and whomever is needed to balance out salaries can be tossed in there.
New Orleans could have a starting 5 of Holiday, Hart, Barrett/Reddish, Zion, and Okafor/whomever.
Kuzma and Randle would be the first guys off the bench and can be your small ball centers.

That is a garbage trade for AD. The number two or 3 pick is better. Way better.

Lakers aren't getting AD without Ingram/Ball and New Orleans may not want those guys.
Posted on 5/14/19 at 9:12 pm to whatiknowsofar
A number 4 pick with ball and/or Ingram would be an interesting trade for the pelicans to turn down

Right.
And we said no to that and a lot more a few months ago and the only thing that has changed is more trade competition and less leverage for our opposition.

Coming from the guy who said moving from #11 to #4 was a disaster for the Lakers.
The Pels #1 helps the Lakers. The complaint was always the Lakers couldn't offer a #1 level guy. Zion is that guy, and now the #4, Ingram and Kuzma would be much more interesting because they're now complementary guys, like they are for a contender.
Randle, Zion, Ingram, Reddish/Barrett and Jrue sounds better than when Ingram was the #1 guy.
