Tony Gonzalez will retire as the best TE to ever play. You could make arguments for Manning and Brady as being the best at their position if you wanted to, but no question with Gonzalez, so I don't find the statement about him being the biggest shoe in that much of a stretch.

is Cris Carter in the HOF yet? Where does he rank?

TO isnt exactly a 1st ballot shoe-in

If one of TO's "suicide attempts" is successful between now and then, he'll surely get the sympathy vote.

Its a shame Carter is not in. BUT T.O is a easy 1st ballot cause of his name. His speech would be EPIC.

But sadly times have changed. T.O is A PERSONALITY. AND a GREAT GREAT WR. Carter was A GOOD GOOD WR.

he's 8th in yards/TDs

The NFL Hall of Fame really has to set some modern standards for the modern WR. There is going to be logjam of WRs with great numbers in a few years. IMO, Chris Carter deserves in and it's kind of fricked up he's not in the HOF yet.

Brady, Peyton absolute locks.

Drew Brees needs a few more years of Productivity.

Tony Gonzales = absolute lock.

Terrel Owens = absolute lock.

Donovan McNabb = In the HOF eventually.

Big Ben R = gets in but not first ballot.

Ray Lewis = basically already in the HOF.

LDT rb = In.

Jamarcus Russel = In, if he pays for a ticket.

Palamolu CB Pitts. = In.

Ed Reed = absolute lock.

What's wrong with using an extrapolation? For example assuming someone like Gates continues to be productive? I see him having similar career numbers to Gonzalez, perhaps beating him.

McNabb is not close to being a hall of famer.

Crazy that this is an LSU-based board and I'm the only one to mention Faneca. Probably the best interior lineman of his generation.
