A QB who had an incredible start to his career but never really got better?
Denard Robinson

Agree with the Reggie Ball comparison.

At first glance ball seems like a good comp, but in reality ball was a shitty qb every single year he played.
Barrett had a 170 qb rating his freshman year with 34 tds and 10 int. Ball was 10 td and 11 int.
Denard Robinson is the best comparison. He didn't really play as a freshman, his best year was his sophomore year, there was a slight drop off junior year, and he fell off a cliff as a senior.

I will say Jalen Hurts has reminded me a little of Barrett so far in his career.

My first thought was Jake Locker. He wasn't as prolific as a FR as JT, but the career trajectory seems relatively similar.
They really made Jake focus on developing as a passer after his injury and his rushing ability, which was his strength, suffered because of it..

If we are going to throw out playing style Casey Clausen started for 3.85 years at Tennessee. Didnt have quite the success Barrett has though
