154 game schedule makes the records look more desirable..... 50 home runs would mean something again... A little purity to the sport
If pitchers could get back to pitching every 4 days you would see more star starters which would be great but never happening.

More DH. Also move the season to end in August. Nothing else is going on then or July. Would have no competition. Will never happen though.

Future demographics are the key. In this country it is trending to soccer as being the second most popular sport behind the NFL. I love baseball, but they are getting their arse kicked in the 15-25 year old male demograhphic in all surveys I have seen.

You can't go down to 140 games, and you can't start the season a month earlier.
You can, however, go down to 154 games and stat the season around March 20th.
I'm all for the season being finished by August 31st, though. One-game playoffs for the wildcard on September 1st.
World Series starts late September. You could maybe have it so where games 4, 5, 6, and 7 would all still be in October.
