WGN fully dropped the Cubs from national broadcasts?

I was TDY for the first month of the season and since I got back I noticed that the Cubs haven't been on WGN at all. I just realized that WGN no longer shows the Cubs on the national channel.

There goes 3/4 of the fanbase.

I thought it had to do with the Fox tv deal of couple years ago.

At least Cubs games are on TV somewhere.

I think WGN gets better ratings on the national channel with non-baseball programming believe it or not. I also believe the Cubs make more money with their local RSN deal with Comcast than it did with WGN national.
Even though the Braves and Cubs had national following via cable people prefer to watch their local baseball teams over the cubs and braves. I know for people who live far away from a local team get screwed from following a team, but almost everyone via cable has access to the closest baseball team's regional sports network and via ESPN, Fox and the MLB network and the MLB.tv deal and buying mlb packages which make more money via Comcast and satellite.
So if you want to watch every Cubs game you still can but it will cost you more.

Yep. It's all moving towards what network pays the most. The MLB app is great. I have the premium TV package and run it on the roku and iPhone. It's $120 for the season.

Are you saying Astros games aren't?

I watched the Cubs every summer as a kid since they were always on during the day on WGN, this is the end of an era.

Are you that oblivious to almost no one getting Astros games on TV?

Tell me about it, Vick.

You got a team in 1st place, a half empty stadium, yet have a thread full of Houstonians going 10 pages talking about the game
You baws should get out and support instead of sitting around bitching about your players who are actually doing well

I've got DirecTV and they've been on WGN maybe once or twice IIRC. I've watched them more on stations I didn't even realize I got. I've mostly been blacked out from watching them.
