You can't have it both ways. If you don't want a play action TD thrown on you, don't continually blitz 11 on a team who is obviously trying to run out the clock. Game ending ettiquette is a two way street.

they stack the box because you are supposed to run in that situation

even knowing they had 11 in the box u run anyway if u are WM.

shite, its not that hard to understand.

you still dont pass the ball in that situation. just saying. It's not a 2 way street. You are up 23-0 on the other side of the field. You have nothing to gain by scoring or by giving Rummel the ball back and letting them run the clock out

They sent all 11 and crushed the QB behind the line. I said to the people next to me when they hit him like that, "Shows will try to score now. Watch".
If I'd've been there, I'd've said the same thing.

I'm telling you, I'd've.

Lester Earl doesn't pass the ball in that situation.
Don Shows sometimes does.

There is nothing wrong with either.

Dude, anyone who doesn't base his entire masculinity on the athletic success of teenage boys is a fig imho.

im pretty sure that on the WM broadcast when they interviewed Shows, he had some comments about the 'dirty' play of Rummel (and the announcers added that it had been that way with every Catholic league team they played), so Shows probably didnt have any qualms about letting his 2nd string throw the ball on 3rd down against 'the best defense in Louisiana'..

Rummel is not a dirty football team.

there was 1 chop block in the game, if that makes them dirty then so be it.

I personally didnt see it, but those things always aren't intentional

there was another "personal foul" called when the WM pushed the Rummel OL down and he fell into the back of a WM player legs. Rummel got flagged for that.

I was at the game, seemed like a pretty clean, hard fought game on both sides.

and you keep knocking Rummel's defense...did you actualy watch the game? Or u just keep being a fig and taking shots at them without seeing the game?

WM was one big play away from having like 200 yards of total offense.

It wasnt Rummel's best defensive game, but they played pretty well. Rummel's offense put them in bad spots all night. And they were on the field a lot. Like I said, the score wasnt indicative of that, and for someone who didnt see the game u would prob make that assumption.

Lester, first of all congrats to Rummel. Their D was outstanding. WM was just the better team.

Now as to the last TD:
quote:

3 the only problem i have with the game is the last call. It was meaningless.

For everyone arguing over the call you should know this bit of info: Ivan and Adrian Manning lost their mother to breast cancer this summer. They had promised her that they would make it to the title game again but this time one of them was going to make a big play. Ivan Manning caught the 20 yard touchdown pass to end the game. Was this the reason behind the playcall? Im not sure but it could be and if so then noone should have a problem with the call.

Now for my take on the game:

Allen was dominant...He killed the tackle all night long, had a pick, and a forced fumble.

Paul Turner is going to be a 4* athlete next year. The kid is unreal. Best player to play in the dome this year. IMO

Rummels defensive ends that I dissed all week for being 190lbs gave WM's tackles all they could handle. I did see Dillon Day pancake both number 31 and number 46 2 times each but I spoke to Meat Bryan after the game and he told me that number 31 was one of the strongest guys he's ever faced including Jordan Allen.

Major major props to Rummel

Well if that was indeed the motive, it makes it more acceptable.

Still don't know if i would call it "right", but that is a sad story.

Yea I can understand Rummel fans being upset and thinking WM ran up the score w/out knowing that story ,but any fan can understand their reasoning now.

I swear as I watched the WM players after the game they had more kids in tears than Rummel
