Last time OPHS won was in 1994, and I think there's been two playoff games since then. This would be 18 straight. I've always hated Ouachita. They're the ultimate Pot, and WMHS is the kettle. They call WMHS rednecks. WMHS is in the middle of town; OPHS is in a cottonfield. I hate those bastards.

We are on the same side when it comes to ULM vs Tech, but I have to give you a . And I wouldn't claim that being in the middle of the town of West Monroe makes WMHS folks more "city" than OPHS folks. It seems to me that WM people are happy to be called rednecks. But there is no disputing the dominace WM has over Ouachita. Not even close. When I was at OPHS, we never lost to WM.

Must have been when Richwood closed. Real fair to us at WM...you get Richwood's talent and a all new high school. We got a new wing and Ross Davis.

As high as 3, as low as 10th depending on the publication. They've slid due to the weak schedule.

Ah, i knew it..

Every year me and my cousin have our annual Redemptorist-Catholic High argument..Me(RHS), my cousin (CHS)...he always braggs that RHS aint ready for so called "5A" football...

I always tell him. "when yall finally beat WM and "get" to the dome, then we can talk"

WM always shuts them down every single year....so close, but yet so far...lol

45 - 13 West Monroe

I've heard there are a few teams from the south that may give them a run in the playoffs. I can't wait to see if this happens because there isn't a team left on the schedule who should keep it in the same park.

There are some teams in the state that could give WM a run for their money. St Thomas More, Acadiana, Dutchtown, St. Aug...I look for those teams to be tough to beat.

I hate our district!!!! But our disrict gets a bum rap too. Everybody thinks our district is weak because WM rolls everybody. But Ouachita is not a bad team. They are very talented. Coaching is killing them. Byrd is good, as is Captain Shreve and I hear Natchitoches Central is improved. The sad thing is WM is so good they make everyone else look real bad but they do that to everyone for the most part!

I agree that Ouachita is a legit playoff contender but just can't sign off on any of the 5-A Shreveport teams doing much in the playoffs, unless they feed upon each other.

West Monroe's defensive line is simply dominant. Their first half last night was the best I've seen by the Rebs in a long time, and that's taking into consideration the Rebels are almost ALWAYS good on defense, year-in and year-out.

Also, QB Paul Turner (LSU Signee) threw the ball better than I've ever seen, despite the fact he seldom sets his feet to throw. Crisp passes on the money, every time last night. And we know he can run.

I'm glad you acknowledge that fact. I mean I try my best not to feel superior to people just because Natchitoches is so cosmopolitan. I actually try to dumb it down when I'm around folks from Ouachita Parish so they aren't intimidated.

I haven't seen West Monroe play this year, but I did see them a few times last year. I assume this year's team is comparable. I have seen STM play, and while good, they are not West Monroe good. Of course, they could certainly win, but I think West Monroe probably wins 7-8 out of 10 games. But that's why they play the games. Good West Monroe teams have lost in the 2nd round recently.

Leesville had em on the ropes for a half. I believe they scored the most so far this season against wmhs. Yea, I'm tooting my own horn.
