If DJ does switch that would shock me. Look at Zach Johnson and Billy Ho. both switched to PXG after being with their respected club makers for years. They both struggled so far with new equipment.

When I see Ricky with those shoes all I can think about is Jimmy from Seinfeld

If DJ were switching for this season we would have heard something solid by now.
It wouldn't surprise me if this happened after the Ryder cup. Tiger may never play again. Nike needs an American star.

Why do these guys switch equipment like that? I know one company may thrown more money at them, but it's not like they are making chump change from their original contractor. If they are concerned about winning, they should stick with the quality product that they know. It could be costing them wins which is also costing them more sponsorship money.

Most equipment is pretty much the same. Especially to guys these good.
The two most notable equipment changes I can recall are Phil switching to Callaway and Rory switching to Nike.
Phil won 4 times his first year with Callaway including the PGA.
Rory struggled his first year with Nike but won The Open a WGC and the PGA in 3 consecutive starts in his 2nd.
Edit - Not to mention Tiger never missing a beat as he phased in Nikes entry equipment piece by piece during his early 2000s domination.

Pros are quicker to try new equipment than any other golfers.
Whatever deal they can land at the best income for them, they pounce.

Rory should find a lake to throw that putter in.

Plus top players get flexibility.
Phil can pretty much do whatever the frick he wants if necessary until Callaway makes something he feels is equal to a better product he finds elsewhere.
In the 2013 Presidents cup Phil was gaming a Taylormade driver, a Titleist 4 wood from 2004, and a Ping lob wedge design from the 80s with updated confirming grooves.
At one point Phil had what had to be a custom made oing eye 2 xg 64 degree wedge because they don't make it in 64 and they can't be bent that much.
He played it for a year until Callaway made basically a knock off with a few tweaks just for him.

Thanks. Coverage starts in 36 minutes. I'm still a bit figured with what round it'll be, but I'll figure it out.

Man, when McIlroy's swing gets off, it can get way off.

A lot of the forged irons out there made at the same places, they just brand them differently. I know Mizuno has thier own forging shop, but most of the others use companies like ENDO for forged irons.
That said, quite a few guys actually play, or played, Miura irons with thier sponsor's branding stamped on them. There were a bunch of rumors that Tiger's Titleist and early Nike irons were from Miura.

I woke up in time to see Rickie get presented with the trophy.
Looks like Stensom finished strong and JSpeith got a top 5.

Kaymer blows the clean sweep weekend... Grace gave him a window too.
On to next week!

Rory putted himself out of the win with the back 9 of his third round. I didn't see the 4th round, looks like Rory made several bogeys on the first 12 holes. By the time he started charging he was too far back.
Happy for Rickie. I guess I'll go buy some high top golf shoes now.

I'd like to see one tourney a year requiring the best set of clubs off the rack/available to the general public.
