I agree with you ryno... 150 out is 150 out no matter where you tee off from
I'm really indifferent on where I tee off from... I usually just follow whoever I'm playing with

A lot of times I will score better on longer courses (or longer par 4s) because I will play conservatively to the front of the green. Just hit a low 6iron runner. Playing to front of the green, if it gets on, that's good. If not, I'm confident I can get myself up and down for a par. My chipping has been very good lately. It's one of the huge reasons I've lowered my scores dramatically lately. If I could get hot with the putter, I'm ready to roll.

They closed to course down for us in the afternoon. Shuffled their afternoon tee times forward and told their members they had a small tournament coming in.

6, 8, 9, 10 are usually played with a 3wood for me. I would do just as well hitting driving iron also.

from the tips i played driver on all of those except 9
if i'm playing the blues, i will hit 3w on 9 and 10, but probably still hit driver and hope for a short hole on 6 and 8

I disagree. it has nothing to do with you getting better. hell a strong argument could be made that you may get better from playing the whites
Not for my game.
Scoring irons and wedges are not an issue for me. If I play MSU on the one ups, I would be playing almost at 6200. If I hit driver semi straight, I'll have a wedge in my hand every time. Almost every hole. I'll have irons in on some par 5s, and on others, I'll just have a shorter layup club than from the tips.
I need to work on making myself hit my driver and 3w straighter and consistently a bit longer off the tee if I want to play some tougher (usually longer courses). I need to work on hit higher irons into greens, or for layup shots. Hybrid and 3W into greens on reachable par 5s.
MSU sets up the course to play easy from the greys, and a lot of times from the tips. It's a college course and they try and keep pace of play up. But I wanna play it at it's toughest.

Nope. Two weekends after that. Like the 25th.
All the golfers from my pledge class are going to have our first annual trip down there. I'm pretty excited. I think most are only playing one round a day, but I might play two on Saturday.

It depends on the round I'm playing whether I take driver off the tee every hole at MSU. If I'm trying to get ready for a weekend round at a new course (or a different course), I'll work on driver and try and get it dialed in.
If I'm betting or playing someone in a competitive match, I'll pick and choose what to hit.

Last year, I think when I was playing for my second ever round in the 70s.
There was a 9-some in front of me on #7 (I played the back first) and it was already pretty dark. I bombed drive down middle. Hit a nice layup and then they let me through. I throw a wedge on the green. They are all standing on the green joking around and drinking. Then get deathly quiet when I address my putt. I blow the damn thing about 6 feet past the hole from about 20 feet away. Let out a some sort of curse word. Take a breathe, knock down my par putt to keep the hope alive.
Shot a 78.

i'm not a fan of GPS apps for phones, but i just downloaded fun golf gps bc its free for a limited time, and the 3D renders for the courses is pretty damn cool

MSU has an app that is more of a yardage book than a GPS.
Wolf Creek had a cart system. Real basic screen, but it was like a yardage book. Gave you driving tips for blind tee shots. Told you about the green, etc. It was awesome. Great feature, it saved me a few strokes no doubt.
