I buy a semester membership. $350 for 4 months. Unlimited with cart.

Play 9 (sometimes 18) almost daily after work.

Don't play any other courses (none really around here)

When I was undergrad at Bama, I played maybe 4 times total while I was in Tuscaloosa. All their courses were expensive.

Hoping my swing comes back. Going home to Chattanooga and gonna golf with my buddy who I always come short of beating.

got a course question for you. why don't courses in the south use centipede as rough? mine is about 3 inches tall right now and looks like it would be awesome on a course

Tiger can send Serg a few of the trophies that don't mean anything to him, like The Players trophy he just got that got all this mess going.

Not too familiar with centipede. But reading makes it sound like its just not as high of quality as most bermudagrass. Doesn't handle traffic well. And never enters dormancy in winter, so it gets diseased easy in the winter.

Plus with Bermuda fairways. It's eaiser to manage Bermuda with Bermuda.

Get out the south then. You'll see some zoysia tees and fairways. Zoysia greens are making a push too. I wouldn't be surprised to see them pop up more places. I think three courses in Miss have gone to them.

Get up north and you'll see bent grass tee to green.

Listen to the man Beav, for a married guy he plays a hell of alot of golf.....but wait till the kids come it all changes. I speak from years of experience. I'm counting down the days till they graduate next year and my free time will be my time finally.

I'm partial to a blend of Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia.

The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

i gotta be honest.... not only do I not pay attention - nor could I name - the type of grass I'm playing on, but I generally don't care either way. It's short grass, who cares

Just wait, baseball/softball, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball....it doesn't end. I have a boy and a girl and for probably 8 years my wife and I were constantly traveling in different directions across the state and south for softball and baseball in the summer. Then came the travel soccer for both (fall & spring) with my daughter also mixing in club volleyball travels. Fun times but glad it's over.

it doesn't bother me that much, but you see all these lush looking courses that are dark green, but everything here is a light green or even brown color. bermuda is great as long as you cut it often, and if i remember right is actually a weed
