You can get Bermuda there and be perfectly green. It's just about budget and maintenance. I mean some places have a crew dedicated to one hole that is almost the size of some crews for a whole course.
Augusta is Bermuda fairways and tees.
Maintenance budgets haven't been burstin at the seams lately with the economy and state of golf.

That was a fun game to watch last night

Ellendale has one, don't know if the public can use it but I would bet right now they let anyone go. There's one behind Nicholls, but you have to have a membership. The Nicholls golf coach owns it and that's where the team practices. La Tour's practice facility is legit though

There used to be 3 of them in Houma, but they all shut down. Only one of them was decent though. There's a store called Premier Golf in the strip mall behind the Walmart in Houma that has a simulator though.

I think it's like a 400 a year membership and pretty much yeah, just go out there and hit balls
