Been looking at the 76 X Stiff to put in my driver. Will probably do it next week. Don't want to switch right before tournament.

I just went out and carded a personal best 40 (+4) on the front 9 at MSU.

5 bogies, 3 pars, and a birdie.

I wasn't even very good off the tee. Only found two fairways. But I scrambled and chipped amazingly. Had two great shots from the rough over a line of trees with a 3I and a 6I. Not sure how I got over them with the 3I.

Putted pretty impressively. I left two on the lip for tap in 2-putts. Would have loved for one of them to fall. And then I 3-jacked a putt on a par 5. Lipped out 2nd putt. I would KILL for that one back to make it to the 30's.

But I can't complain much, because on the following par 3, I pushed my 9I right and under a tree. The flag was down on a flat area, but I had to run the ball down a steep side hill. Went up and looked, decided where I needed to land it. Go back and land it in the exact spot I wanted to. Ball rolled down the hill and dripped straight in the cup. The old men on the tee in front of me weren't too happy about my yell.

Next hole I sliced it right onto 1 fairway. Leave it short and to the right on the approach. Chip the ball exactly where I wanted to again and leave myself a 10 footer for par and a 40. Step up and drain it.

Sorry for the long post. Feel like I could run through a wall right now because of that chip and posting a 40.

That's the kind of stuff that keeps you coming back time and time again. Make it a 39 next time.

Absolutely. My irons are pure as can be right now (for me at least). If I could find some tee shots in the short grass, it'd be amazing.

I had a goal of 42 and 87 for the summer.

Marked one off and gonna set it to break 40 now.

I used to hit 3W off every tee, but I'm trying to work out my driver. It gives me an extra 30-50 yards and puts short iron or wedge in my hand for a lot of par 4s.

Since I'm playing almost everyday I figure I'm gonna keep hitting driver. I'm definitely close to figuring it out. Just need some more practice. And probably a new driver. Got an old Callaway FT-i with a Fujikura regular flex Speedster shaft.

Hopefully I'll save some money up and be able to get one next month.

Unless the hole is 400+ you should have no more than an 8 iron in if you have a low lofted hybrid. Best player in our regular group has a 16* Ping he can hit 250-260. Aggravating as frick.

I don't have a low lofted hybrid. So there is that problem as well.

112 enough for X with that 2.2 torque? Might need stiff.

If you are hitting your irons pure, just hit the longest iron in your bag on 2or3 holes a round

A x-stiff with that torque is insane!!! That is your level shite... I play an x-stiff with 3.8 torque with 118 swing speed

I'm gonna do that tomorrow and see what results I can get.

I know one short par 4 that I've hit 3I off and still had a 9I or wedge into the green. I should do that every time. I should at least par that hole every time.

Shot 80 today at SM... 41-39.... 1 birdie, 12 pars, 2 bogies, 2 dbls, 1 triple.

These blow-up holes are absolutely killing my scores. Both bogies were from balls hit in water hazards (off the drive), one double was a ball in a water hazard (driver), the other from an OB drive (driver), and the triple was an OB drive. Seeing any trends here?????
